Hacking Problems with Luma 3ds on my Nintendo 2ds

Hi,

So i have used Palicats guide in the past when downgrading and loading Luma3ds with A9LH on my old 2ds

Now i recently aquired a 2ds with 8.1 OFW and i used 3ds.guide and managed to hack the system with luma 3ds a9lh

but i have noticed several differences after hacking my new 2ds that i havent see on my other 2ds

1. The main menu has black icons that i can click but arent really usefull for anything. One of the icon says "banner" but the rest are all black boxes

2. I cant access HB loader at all. when i click on it , the app opens but just shows two red arrow/ripples around the Nintendo 3ds logo

3. I cant update luma3ds even though i can connect to internet just fine

4. how do i update my system from its current 8.1 to the latest firmware

Does the latest firmware work with luma 3ds?
my new 2ds currently is in a Sysnad state


also its important to note that my old 2ds which also has luma 3ds with a9lh is on 11.1 and DOESNT give me any of the problems that this one does


Where did i go wrong??

A lot of that sounds like sdcard issues; plys if you followed the guide you would be on the latest firmware - not 8.1 [update via settings]

Just make sure a9lh is there [you can load gm9/hg9 etc at boot]; that luma is running, and the sdcard is fine then update via settings

What do you mean by SHOULD be on sd? in system settings it states that i am on Sys 8.1

. . . 3ds games/3dsware/homebrew/vc all get installed to the sd card and dsiware/gbavc/dsihomebrew/system titles all get installed to nand. fbi sorts this out for you by default but having a game/homebrew/title installed in the wrong place causes this black box issue another cause is frankinfirmware so you should update luma then the console

Where do i update luma from? i tried using the installed luma updater but it just shows two arrows surrounding the 3ds logo

You could download 11.3 titles but I think it would be easier to update to 11.4; and then downgrading the updated titles -- if you feel the need for HBL

So guys i updated to 11.4 and the black boxes are no more. Secondly the luma updater works.

However the hbl doesnt load and the reason it gives me is that "there is likely no internet connection" when it is already connected to a working connection

Is this because of 11.4? or something else??

Also any news on when hbl will work??

ive downloaded the starter kit. Which is correct one

there is no 11.4 payload option for 2ds

. . . not the kit scroll down and input your model & fw and click download otherapp rename it otherapp.bin copy it to your sd root replace if prompted

sorry thats the end of my knowledge of that route but i can say most homebrew comes in a .cia format you can install via fbi so you can circumvent the need for the homebrew launcher
