I just got an N2 a few days ago and only about half of the bins on the market work. Does anyone have any tips on how to get the wolf link amiibo to work? I run off of a Macbook and have the n2manager ap and the USB NFC reader/writer addition.
Thanks!
I don't which "market" you're obtaining your .bins from, but I'm using the collection from
@EllioneDHunter's pastebin. I've loaded up all the Zelda related .bins and am yet to run into any that don't work.
There's very little documentation about the N2 hardware or its seemingly abandoned software, so I've had to figure a lot of it out on my own.
Writing the Amiibo .bin files to the N2 is somewhat foolproof - simply select the slot you wish to write to, then choose the .bin you wish to write.
One thing I'd recommend that you do is set the available slot count to reflect the amount of .bins you've written.
I set the slot count to 200, not realising what the option did, it resulted in 10 written slots and 190 "empty" slots. Attempting to scan an empty slot in-game results in a disappointing *donk* sound, which is then repeated 189 more times before finally looping back to the written slots. Is it this sound that's made you think some .bins aren't working?
Scanning the N2 in-game comes with its own challenges to overcome. I've found that pressing the button while touching the N2 to the NFC touch point works best, repeat to cycle to the next slot.
I seem to have trouble scanning more than a few in a row, so perhaps there is a spawn limit imposed by the game itself. But I find that I usually only need to fill a few empty item slots, so it's not that much of a hassle.
