Hacking Custom firmware defeats region locking?

I'm sure this is a silly question to many, but I just followed the nice guide webpage I found and put on homebrew and lumia capabilities on my 3ds. Does this mean I can run eu and japanese games on my 3ds? automatically?

If you followed 3ds.guide (which I hope you did), then yes.

Yes. But that does not mean they will automatically be in English.

thanks temptress. I'm gonna try to run bravely default japanese, but I read it has settings to do text and voice settings in english. maybe I can put text in english and voice in japanese, that'd be cool!

I believe that game actually does have English, so it'll probably run in English. I think there are undub projects on that iso site though.

The game has Japanese/English in it already. You select it from the menu/option. I think you have to get past the intro part to get to the menu to change it. It's been a while since I played. The uncensor is the version to get for original and sequel.

So it lets you play Japanese with English text? Because I am well aware that the Japanese release did have English in it.

But anyways, this game doesn't interest me. OP should be the one really looking well into it.
