I'm just asking cause i know some other consoles have such things.
  • NDS can boot GBA cart by holding B on boot.
  • 3DS can load update safe mode on boot.
  • Wii u can load VWii by holding B on boot
  • Playstation 3 has safe (recovery mode) using a combination of beeps on the power button
  • Psvita has one similar to ps3
  • Ps4 i think does have one (someone confirm this)
I been doing similar stuff like holding power button, volume buttons (Kinda like a tablet) but I dunno so i was just curious.

If you hold Vol + and Vol - and power on you can access Recovery Mode there you can Update the Device and you can make an Full Reset. Also there is an option for reset without loosing your save data.

Okay, so least one exist, but is not as useful for any mods anyway. Just a simple user based service restoration backup plan i guess. I'm kinda curious why it has no auto game boot option, like psp has, where it can boot UMD on startup. Is a option but least i had it. It could least had wii u quick menu to just load a game without system menu first or something to quickly start a game.

I don't think they expect you to complete turn off the console, but instead put in sleep mode. Also the quick start wasn't added till at least 2 years after the wii u came out.
