Nice if there was a new revision coming.(doubtful) I'm curious why they didn't just design it like the WiiU game pad charging cradle. In my mind it would have made more sense.

Intriguing, maybe Nintendo has been listening to feedback, I mean, surely, they wouldn't pull it for no reason?

if they release a better one that cost nothing for previous buyer
Of course it's going to cost you. It's a company, they're not going to give millions of consumers a free product because it works better than the current one. They'll sell it either for the current price of the dock or maybe a little more/less depending on what's changed.

Nintendo must be really happy, they get more money for little effort...

Gonna do the eyeglass microfibre cloth mod in the meantime while I wait for a custom 3D printed one to start being sold.

I might choose a different themed fabric but this is at least washable.

A Switch Dock Cozy.

I went with a solution like that (based on an old shaggymax) for few days; and there is an heating issue - after one hour of playing on screen, when i picked up the switch to play on the couch it's too hot to be confortable . I will consider to tape 2 strings of cloth on inside the dock.

well let say I did said it wrong, I meant that if we send back our and they send it back another we only have to add few or at least give a discount for those who brought before ^^

a bit ugly yet functionnal

Thank you @Baoulettes for your POC design! I was able to use 4 strips of microfiber glass wiper and tape them over the bumps and mod my dock as well!

One thing I noticed after applying the mod though is that whenever I slide my switch into/out of the dock, I can feel my switch gliding against the microfiber swipes...Is that supposed to be normal or was the microfiber material I used too thick? Thanks!

Here it keep a bit better the switch in place without giving any presure on screen maybe that the adhesive you have used that is a bit too "big" ?
Mine is used for Mobiles screen so it is really "tiny" and does not add much size maybe that the difference ?

I used paper-thin double-sided tape and not the thick type mounting tape; however, my dock's front is slightly bent and I'm wondering if it has to do with that:

uh how happened ?
I always do such with any items sometime I put mobile sometime my coffee double sized cup or switch itself :
and it still have good shapes :X

I've had my switch dock for only a week, and I've always placed it vertically (not horizontally like you do) and never with anything on top.

After reading this thread on IGN, it seems that it may be possible that some of the docks shipped out from manufacturing with a bent front:

I think some are more bent than others, but I have 2 docks both slightly bent and no scratches here. It must be from the top because the bottom has little rubber squares on the rails but the top has nothing.

You people with scratches could you possibly post pictures of your docks please?

Did you buy your docks separately maybe the docks which come packed with the switch are ok but the standalone docks have the issues
