Okay...I guess some clarification is needed first.
I'm probably one of the guys Marko76 refers to as a senior member who warns people for video guides. To a degree, that isn't true anymore. Back in the wii days, progress happened much slower and nintendo meddled with things so often that in the end, correctly following an outdated guide could easily end you up with a brick. The wariness against video's was usually because text guides (at least those on gbatemp) had a known author, a date and a "last updated" mention. The people who bricked their wii usually had followed a guide from someone nobody here had heard of and contained one-sided information, outdated stuff, missed important information and rarely if ever provided background information.
It may sound like discrimination, but it's really part of the medium. Texts take longer to write up but are easier to edit once done. It's better for the reader in that links can be found and parts can be quickly searched. Video's, on the other hand, are a passive medium. I admit it's easier to follow what someone is doing, but this goes at the cost of understanding WHY you need to do this. It's harder to edit, and I've got the impression that youtubers who make video guides just upload new ones and don't bother removing the old ones (it could generate them hits, even if it contains info that may have become a brick risk. In other words: the creator has more to gain by getting people to watch outdated stuff than to help them properly).
Also...I may be totally subjective, but I got the impression that because youtube gives more audiovisual stuff, it comes across as more legitimized than "plain" text. I've seen posts where people just "meh'd" or "what does that currently do?" when people were discussing kernel exploits, but went totally bananas once someone used that in a video to show "hello world" on the wiiu gamepad.
None taken. Here's the reason: "bootcfw" is probably a term used in the video, but here it's meaningless. CFW is 'custom firmware'. Boot means that it launches from the start. I can make an educated guess what it means, but you can understand that if someone makes a fifteen minute video containing the word "lollerskateCFW" somewhere in the middle, it doesn't mean that others might have a clue what I'm talking about (it's another strike against video's, btw: I can't properly search to where he makes mention of it, and seeing how you don't know what it is, I assume the author didn't bother explaining it).
Okay...enough sidetracking. Mocha is basically an alternative operating system for your wiiu. The premisse is that if you launch it, it'll load the menu's and stuff from your SD card (or USB as well now? I'm not too familiar with it). The thread about it can be found

I gotta admit that I'm not too sure what the technical stuff all means to end users, but it's certain that properly setting up mocha lowers your chance to brick things (if you accidentally install something wrong to your mocha operating system, you can just remove the files from your CD card and start anew).
BootCFW...well...your guess is as good as mine at this point. I THINK it refers to coldboothax, but again: I don't pretend to speak in name of a youtuber. Coldboothax certainly runs at boot time, and since it comes with it's own sysnand CFW (I'm
quoting the author here) I guess it qualifies.
