Crash The Game

(First of all. I put this thread on this forum, cause I'm not just in general talking about Crash for the ps4)
So I was browsing through youtube and somehow got to a video of Crash of the Titans gameplay. So I decided to look up some stuff and found out, that they are releasing a new version of Crash for the ps4. It kinda amazed me since I remember playing Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex when I was 8 years old, and raging so hard over it xd
First off, am I just dumb, or has Activision always been part of this game? Cause apparently they own the new one. And also just wondered if any off you guys remember playing this game.

The N-Sane trilogy isn't even out yet, it doesn't even have a release date still.

As for Activision, they picked up the rights to Crash when they merged with Vivendi around 2007 or so IIRC (who picked up the rights from Sierra around 2000, who picked it up from Universal who picked it up from Sony).

O sorry I'm dumb, didn't read the release date part, so I assumed it was out xd
And for the second part. I never really expected them to pick up a game like Crash.

They merged with an entire studio, it's not like they went through every single IP and said "no no no no YES CRASH no no no". When they merged with Vivendi they simply picked up all the IPs they owned.
