Hacking Problem installing VPK files

Hey guys

I have installed Henkaku and I'm using molecularshell 1.43, which I have in unsafe mode.

I have been trying to install a couple of VPK files, including MaiDumpTool but none the the files appear to work.

I select the file, press X it asks if I want to install the package and I hit X again and then it just sits there on 0% and doesn't go any further.

Is there anything else I should be doing that I'm not aware of?

It is an original Vita that has been safely upgraded to 3.60

The new Henkaku needs unsafe mode switched on.
once you have activated henkaku start molecular shell. press start to get menu and switch on unsafe mode.
You shouls also update to vitashell 1.51

Good call but unfortunately still not installing. I presume that a small file like MaiDumpTool shouldn't take ages to install?

I was just wondering if I was being impatient?

It depends, sometimes the unsafe warning can take a bit to pop up but it shouldn't be more than 45 seconds before it does and then it starts to install.

Try other directories in ux0, someone else had a similar problem and they said they fixed it by putting VPKs in ux0:/temp, maybe try that, too? I'm trying to narrow down what the exact issue might be myself, but it's a little difficult cuz I can't reproduce the problem on my end lol

An interesting side effect is that if I press O to cancel, then the Vita locks up. If I press the PS button I get the red no go icon in the top left hand corner as (such as when the ftp is still running) and it won't let me navigate menus. The only way out then is to hold the power button and restart

Ahhhhh, I had this issue with VitaShell 1.5 actually, but not with Molecular Shell. VitaShell 1.51 fixed that issue, but I've never heard of it happening with Molecular Shell.

My best guess would be to try removing your current molecular shell bubble and installing Henkaku again via the web browser. See if that at least fixes your VPK install issue, then install VitaShell 1.51 and start using that from now on.

This should be a low space problem in ux0.

I have this same issue, some install fine but some are stuck in 0%, I'll leave it installing for a lot of time and see what happens...

i have been trying to install some games and they wont work.

i have tried multiple versions of uncharted and all give the c2-12828-1 error when you see the spinning coin thing, same with Killzone, but i did find one copy of Killzone that worked but then kept forcing me back to the start page at random points either during the intro movie or the first level.

i use Hankaku to boot using the email offline installer (same applies if i use molecularshell installer) and i have tried installing using vitashell 1.61 for vpk files and maidumptool v233.2zex for mai dump versions and no luck.

i have tired ratchet and clank 1 and i cant start a new game because it wont let me click and create a new save file.

there are other games i have tried with no luck which is a pain because theyre the games i wanted to work the most.

only games so far ive got installed and to work are
Metal Gear Solid HD Collection
God of War Collection
Jak and Daxter
Jak and Daxter 2

i have been able to make a dump of my Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 cart which worked, but if i dump Unit 13 it doesnt work.

I have also got Adrenaline installed to emulate PSP which works great and tried PCSXE Retroarch for PS1 but i get no sound.

are these issues related to bugs in the exploits/loaders or have i got something missing.

I´ve got this errors some time ago, and fixed by formatting my card and reinstall all the hacks from zero. I did the backup and restore, so lost nothing, did you try it?

Why do you wanna emulate PS1 with RetroArch. Get Eboot PSX games and run them through Adrenaline 4!!!

Essentially just extract .vpk contents into a folder with the game ID. Then place in ux0:/mai directory and install.

If it's a software vpk it's probably available on the Vita Homebrew App

Why do you wanna emulate PS1 with RetroArch. Get Eboot PSX games and run them through Adrenaline 4!!!

i never thought of that lol, because i had plenty of iso's on my hdd i thought copy them over.

i sourced some eboot versions but they gave an error and wouldnt boot.

copied the game in the directories psp/game/gametitleid/eboot.pbp

ive tried extracting the vpk to titleid folder and using mai to install but still gives the C2-12828-1 error (uncharted) and it also doesnt show in mai to modify the game settings.

unchrated is the main game i want to try get working as well
