Why is your sd card so small?

Tranfer everything to a pc.
Then tranfer back when your done.
Your want a blanket sd card to do the hacking anyways.

Or buy a bigger card. With that much space left its kinda pointless to do cfw. If you add one normal size 3ds game your be out of space.
Sd card are very cheap now of days. 16gb microsd with adapters go for around $10 to $15

I honestly don't know why it's so small. Won't transferring everything to a PC cause everything to stop working?

No.

It's too small because everything you need to do will take up more than a 128 MB of space. You can buy a decent 16GB SD card from Wal*Mart for like 10$. Why isn't buying a new SD card an option?

Really? I got my trusty 64gb for 20$ at target, DANE brand and hasn't let me down yet.
They are being sold in my Wal*Mart (and the Wal*Marts in my area) for like $9.88 for the class 10 Sandisk microSD cards.

CFW is safe, the downgrade can be slightly risky and not following https://3ds.guide/ closely will almost always cause a brick. The issue with your SD card is that one of the important steps of hacking a 3DS is having a NAND backup which varies in size but is usually 1-2 GB in size. This can be saved to a PC but you need that free space to create that backup. Also if you are wanting cfw to install any 3DS games you will need space to save them too since most 3DS games are anywhere from 700 MB to 3GB+. As mentioned above 16 GB is a good starting point, but if you want to have many games installed at once 32GB or more will give a good bit of storage space.

And before anyone says anything, you NEED THAT NAND BACKUP. THAT IS A STEP YOU CANNOT SKIP.

OK. I will get a better SD Card and then follow SonicBrawler's tutorial.
Don't, please follow this guide. Youtube guides are always out of date and we get at least 3 threads a day related to issues from Youtube guide.
Just follow the guide we've provided, it's the safest and most tested guide.
If you have a visual (a.k.a. video) version of https://3ds.guide/, I would appreciate it.
Please just take the time to read, it's worth it in the end.

Just my 2 cents, but i highly recommend https://3ds.guide/ over any others, it's been done a thousand times, is updated daily, and has all the necessary steps.
2x on the guide. Read each page 2 times before doing it.

And for the people with the sd card prices. They float.
Brought a 64gb smansung for my phone and cost me $30.
A 32gb for $12.99 some 16gb for $10.
But hit up staples. Not alot of people go there and they normall have sells.

And im willing to bet you have a2gb or 4gb sd card now. With a few games installed and thats why you only have the 200mb free space
