what is the best guide to follow for downgrading?
i use 11.0 Eur 2ds does fasthax work?
looking through some guides they only mention how to downgrade 11.2. does the same guide work on 11.0?
do i get to keep my game save's
after the downgrade do i just follow this https://3ds.guide/installing-arm9loaderhax
odds of brick?
waithax or fasthax?
is it safe to use 1$ memory card reader?
i have installed legit cia's before. do they stay?
sighax is in the works is it even worth getting arm9?

I personally think my guide is more noob-friendly than Plailect's, but everyone would recommend Plailect's for you. (Excluding me)
Update to 11.2 and use fasthax.
Use waithax instead of fasthax.
If you make a backup and restore it, yes.
Yes.
Less than 1%, if I recall correctly.
Fasthax.

Yup.
Sighax only allows a9lh installation without 2.1.

1) afaik, fasthax is n3ds exclusive (could be wrong)
2) 11.0-11.2 can be downgraded practically the same way
3)we only downgrade to extract your systems OTP, after a9lh is installed you restore your ctr nand i think, so all your saves go untouched
4)follow the guide to the T (DO NOT SKIP OUT ON NAND DUMP!!!) and youll be fine
5) sd reader is NOT ok, you cant risk it disconnecting during the downgrade because the readers are finicky that way, just use a regular size sd
6)waithax if you have the dsiware
7)legit cias or not, once you restore, everything is as how you left it before you started

sighax will only allow the installation of cfw directly, but is still a long ways off. if your patient, then by all means, wait to use it :)

Hmm... Nope, bricks = 0%. Only user errors (close the lids on n3ds / format 2ds on 2.1, power off your 3ds during important operations, etc).

Fasthax has only been focused on N3DS, but any device works with it.

Use Plailect's guide, it is much more complete than any other.

by sd card reader i meant the one that goes in the pc

Sometimes unnecessarily. After all, some people just want to have a9lh, not actually understand what they're doing as long as they're doing it.

There are some Safehax builds that have fasthax built-in

Your opinion. Just like I think your guide doesn't read very well and doesn't emphasize key points generating 10000 of needles questions.

Luckily everyone can have an opinion :toot:

Most questions were people doing things before asking, like that one who bricked his 2DS because he panicked because he didn't delete the home menu extdata and formatted it and making sure they understood what to do.

I also like the fact Plailect's guide warns users not to format a 2DS and yous doesn't, it just comes down to I believe it's more comprehensive and complete than other guides.

Basically, in my opinion: Plailect Guide > (insert whatever your guide's title is)

Wow you would seriously recommend your guide over Plailect's? Which has dozens of people correcting it constantly and the main author of which is in constant contact with the devs producing the tools? While yours was produced by one person, and may not be getting updated and if it was, would be being updated by only one person instead of dozens? That's taking your ego a little far I think.

I would have to agree with @Quantumcat. While your guide is definitely straight forward I would hardly call vague one line instructions noob friendly. Guides like that tend to create more problems than they solve. Not to say you shouldn't keep it but as least make it a bit more descriptive on the do's and don'ts. I don't understand why we need identical guides in different places anyway when there is no guarantee the OP's keep them relevant. At least the Plailect guide is community backed with support of tons of people. Which automatically eradicates questions like "Well what guide were you using?" when trying to help someone if people stick to one thing.

I really appreciate what you have done by making a shorter, easier guide, but 3ds.guide is bound to be updated faster and will end up becoming better. No offence, but your guide doesnt really have anything that 3ds.guide doesnt. But hey, maybe some people just prefer your guide!

@Lilligant claim he/she got bricked even he/she following every steps of the bilble.
http://gbatemp.net/threads/old3ds-blackscreen-after-a9lh-install.452287/
Think again then

Hardmoded it, did the same thing again, worked
But, I think brick from installing A9LH is very very very rare case except user error.
May be sonme rare hardware failure.

If theres one thing i've learned, every "random" brick is ALWAYS some kind of user error (with the exception of that weird OTPless stuff)
I don't want to argue with you since the info is @Lilligant's, not mine.
What he/she telling is:
1. He/She use stock SD card, formated and checked
Well i used the 4gb sd card that came with it, formated and checked, that sucks :/
2. Use SafeA9LH installer v2.0.3
Nope, used v2.0.3
and my o3ds turn on without the SD card, keeps the blue ilght on and with the black screen
3. He/she claim that he/she already do A9LH on over 35 Old3DS.
to be fair, i installed a9lh in over 35 Old3DS and 23 New3DS (OTPless) and this is the only time i got a brick
4. And he/she already fix it with hardmod, so nobody can find out what actually cause the problem.

Well, Both @Plailect and @Crystal the Glaceon also said that hacking always has a risk.
Just that those risk is very low, and if you keep you backup, hardmod can recover 3DS.
So, it's not big deal if you read & follow the guide properly, and be able to apply hardmod.

A lot of people forget that hardmod exists, so yeah, i guess you're right :)

There shouldn't be any confusion as to IF a brick can happen during a downgrade, it 100% can anytime you modify system files. The thing is it's just not that often when certain checks are put in place. That doesn't mean you can't do everything 100% correctly and still brick, there is that 1%. If there was 0% chance of a brick period, there would be no disclaimer anywhere about the risk.
