Homebrew Updating Cias

Ive installed a few cias and on the home menu it says the game is due for an update but im not sure how to update the cia

Download the update from the eShop if the game is from your 3DS's region.
If the game is not from your 3DS's region, download the update CIA from somewhere and install it.

Big N only DMCA'd the Github source. It's still alive and working.

I just went through the e shop and the update option was there but it it was said to already be downloaded and also it asked me if i wanted to repair the software in which i said no. I also dont know how to install freeshop

Find the freeshop CIA (Its on a thread on the forum) , install it via FBI and carefully read thread to know what to do.

Look up the cia of freeshop on that iso site. Also just say yes if it wants to repair. Worse case scenario you re-install the title afterwards.

what about save data? i have mario kart 7 but i also installed a mario kart 7 cia as well but on the cia my save data isnt in there. Is there a way for me to transfer the save data from my cartridge to the cia?

Use JK's save mananger cia to move your saves..

Never had any problems updating my CIA's through eshop yet. It always works for me for some reason.

You can always use nintendo's save data trabsfer app. It transfers cartridge saves to cia saves

And what about freeshop? I installed it but I'm not sure how to load up the games or anything. I'd if I'm supposed to copy files of what it says but I'm not sure where to find them

in Freeshop options there should be QR Scanner somewhere which you can use. Head over to 3DS Title Key database and where it says Download encTitleKeys.bin click the little QR Button and scan it with freeshop, then reload Freeshop

But what if i already have cias in my 3ds installed through fbi? how do i get those on the freeshop even though there already on my system?
