I did A9LH with a 2GB Sd card. It worket out nicely with ~80mb of free space left. I didn't have about anything on it. Or are the NAND backups bigger on a new 3DS for example?

Yes, NAND backups are bigger on new 3ds (1.2 GB rather than the 943 MB of o3ds)

How did you got all the Files on a 2GB Card ???
Ctransfer ≈ 1GB
Backup of SysNand ≈1.2GB....

Backup of SysNand is around 900mb on O3DS.
And you can just put it in your PC and only use it later, so that leaves 900mb of free space to work with.

Ctrtransfers aren't universal backups that could be restored like that. CTRNAND is encrypted with per-console keys. Decrypt9 uses the 3DS to encrypt it using the 3DS. If you don't have the capability to run ARM9 code on the 3DS, ctrtransfers aren't useful.

If you have a Nand image backup a hardmod can restore you're console, there is many console hardmodders on this forum even me.
another repair method is if you have a rework station and buy a faulty non bricked motherboard and swap the chips.

Also try safemode, depending on how bad it is and whats corrupted then you may be able to fix.

try to update from recovery
Power up the console while holding L + R + UP + A, then update.

Try L+R+UP+DOWN+A.Hold them pressed and power it on.(release the power button after the led is on, do not hold it)Keep holding for a while.It may take some time.If does not work, you need a mod.For me it worked and got me into system update.It was a failed downgrade some time ago.

Yeah something like that but that's IF he has a rework station else there's NO POINT in spending £100+ for it just to repair the 3DS plus the mobo.

You are able to do that ? I think you need more than a rework Station (I mean he used Xray )
and a damn rework Station Costs aroud 10 000€ to 40 000€ (I mean you could buy 500 to 2000 New3DS XL for the same Price)
