update the system normally when an update comes out. there is a luma3ds updater app to update the CFW

o ok lol so if i got this right you update luma3ds cfw 1st then the system like you would normal.

using the safehax from this thread, i have got into decrypt9 and done a successful NAND Backup but when i go to Auto ctrnand transfer i press A and nothing happens, i also waited 10mins. im on a n3ds 11.2.0-35E

Yes do not close console, follow every step in the guide to the letter and you will be ok. I just did it on my N3DS PAL, no issues whatsoever.

follow the guide. you won't be on 2.1 long.

Correct after you install A9LH you are golden, infadct the system won't boot until you restore the backup.
