I just got this R4 card and it was working fine on my n3ds until today. Today, it suddenly stopped working and goes straight to the power off screen. I tested on my 2ds and its working fine. Both are running a9lh and 11.2. Only difference is the n3ds has forwarders for the cias. Help?

get a good flashlight to look into the cradridge slot of your n3ds, look if there's nothing bend more then in the 2ds

have you recently updated your n3ds? since each 3ds/2ds fw is different, and so are the updates not synced...
They were both updated to 11.2 when it came out. Also, I mentioned above that it was working fine on the n3ds earlier. This just started happening for seemingly no reason.

okay, wierd... though still 11.2 2ds could differ from 11.2 n3ds, but okay, if thpins in de n3ds look good, (metal is same color, no white/green/purple in the pins?) do real games work correctly on both 3dses?it is wierd but it could still be a software brick in twl. that it turns off sounds like short circuit to me, so i suggest cleaning the contacts, and checking if all pins are fit as they should. since the card works on the other 2ds i don't think the card is damaged, it's the console side that worries me.

Real games do work on both consoles and there seems to be no discoloration in the card slots. I tried cleaning the contacts, but to no avail. Any other ideas?

not sure if this is your problem, but I have fixed this by blowing on these things: microSD card, microSD card slot, cartridge reader, and cartridge itself. Sometimes dust can interfere with the DS reading the cart.

Already cleaned everything, going to try and downgrade TWL. Is there a guide to doing that anywhere?

https://3ds.guide/troubleshooting explaines a bit of the idea, i can't find the original post of it back, and ehm i can't help you getting all files together... you might need to downgrade nfirm also, just read m3 had only problems to load on n3ds 11.2 fw not on o3ds or 2ds, so that might be the same problem...
