Just (finally!) used waithax to install arm9hax. It took the better part of my afternoon, but it worked perfectly, and I can't wait to get started.

Now that I have arm9hax can I still use all the old homebrew that I was running with Ninjahax, or should I install new versions? For example, on the retroarch website I had been using the .3dsx files. Should I use those or switch to cia? Is there anything that I need to do to get emulators to take advantage of all the extra power they now have at their disposal?

You can Still use .3dsx homebrew things, but .cia's are way more easier to open and use. :)

.cias get access to Dynarec/JIT which means faster performance on emulators, pick .cia emulators before .3dsx ones at most moments.
Another difference is that you can't use Decrypt9 and other arm9 homebrews from the HBL, you absolutely HAVE to use them from arm9loaderhax in the folder /luma/payloads/start_hourglass.bin forms.
If there's not a .cia version of the homebrew in quesiton, then continue using the 3dsx version. You can also install the hbl_channel as a .cia and relinquish the use of ninjhax for emergency cases.
