Hacking [Question] Need some help im lost

Hi guys i may need a little help. I a noob who has come back to the scene since 2014. I have an o3ds with gateway and i used to run it with the website exploit I followed this tutorial trying to gain access to Homebrew



I have an o3ds on 9.2 and everything worked except FBI. I then tried to forget gateway and not knowing what to do followed this tutorial https://3ds.guide/ and managed to install hourglass, luma 6.6, armloader ( i think) and idk what else (im a real noob). Thing is, in the final part of the tutorial u need to install some cias and since i cant make FBI work i tried going to my emunand and ,using gateway, go to title manager or Dev menu. But nope. I cant access the gateway menu or emunand no more. So im stuck i need a cia installer and make gateway to work or forget gateway and somehow do a fresh start which i dont know how. I have a backup of my sysnand on 9.2 (you had to do it because u needed to flash 2.1 version in the tutorial iirc) and thats all. Im all lost. I dont know how to start from zero or continue. If you could help me i would appreciate it. Thanks

in the end of the guide they advice you to update the 3ds but i hadnt done it without consulting first because i think i will lose access to the homebrew launcher

Hi, when i inject it through hourglass it says it is done successfully but when i go to the sysnand the Health and care app is still there. it isnt FBI.

Alright , do this:

Launch Hourglass Or Decrypt9 at launch.
Dump from Sysnand your Health And Safety App.
Shutdown your 3ds.
Put the SD card on your PC.
copy your hs.app from the root of your SD card to your PC.

Put FBI.cia inside the input folder from Universal Inject Generator.
Put your HealthAndSafety.app inside the input folder from Universal Inject Generator.

Run go.bat.

You will find 2 created .app, use whichever you like.

Put your fbiInjected.app on the root of your sd card.

Launch Hourglass Or Decrypt9 at launch.

Inject your new fbiInjected.app into your Sysnand.

Profit.

Yes i tried to launch it and it isnt FBI.

Following your steps i:

Sysnand Backup/restore - Health&Safety dump -hs.app -Health&Safety dump succeeded!
copied hs.app and FBI.cia on the input folder
got the file FBI_inject_with_banner.app. copied it on the rood of the sd. had 1 already (replaced it)
when i tried to inject. it also Only recognizes hs.app(should i have deleted it from the root?) so i injected that. FBI still not working

Try putting the FBI_inject_with_banner.app inside your files9 folder.

have you tried renaming fbi.app to hs.app then restoring it as if it were a backup?

Try putting the FBI_inject_with_banner.app inside your files9 folder.

It worked, i could inject it now FBI is operating correctly.

Now im following the tutorial

Section VI - Finalizing setup

1. Open Health and Safety (which is now FBI)
2. Select “SD”
3. Select “cias”
4. Navigate to FBI.cia and press (A) to install
5. Navigate to hblauncher_loader.cia and press (A) to install
6. Navigate to lumaupdater.cia and press (A) to install
7. Navigate to arm9loaderhax.bin, then press (A) on it and select the “Copy” option
8. Return to the FBI main menu with (B)
9. Select “CTR NAND”
10. Select “<current directory>”
11. Select the “Paste” option, then press (A) to confirm
12. Exit with the home button
13. Launch the Homebrew Launcher from the home menu
14. Select “DSP Dump”
15. Press (Start) when prompted to exit
16. Reboot while holding Start to launch Hourglass9
17. Go to “SysNAND Backup/Restore”, then select “Health&Safety Inject”
18. Select hs.app (the original one that doesn’t contain FBI), then press (A) and confirm to inject
19. Press (Select) on the main menu to eject your SD card
20. Press (Start) to reboot with the SD card removed
    • Booting the device at least once with the SD card removed will allow you to configure the CTRNAND based luma installation
21. Use the (A) button and the D-Pad to turn on the following:
    • “Show NAND or user string in System Settings”
22. If you are using a New 3DS, you should also enable the following:
    • “New 3DS CPU” to “Clock+L2(x)”
    • This will increase the framerate of many games, but may cause instability in others
    • If some games do not work properly, disable this option and try again
23. Reinsert your SD card, then press Start to save and reboot!

Would you recommend updating or staying in 9.2? also. If you are familiar with gateway, how can i enter the menu? i tried browser, HBL and profile methods but those wont work. And finally how do you make an emunand? i did one back in 2014 with gateway menu but now i changed sd. i dont have emunand and cant access gatewaymenu so idk how to make 1. Thanks for everything

Yes, I would suggest updating. I'm not familiar with gateway so I can't really help you there, but with a9lh installed the only point of using gateway would be the cheats. Cia files are superior to .3ds roms as they dont need a private header to go online. You also don't need an emunand. With a9lh the hax run directly on sysnand.

Updating its a must, luma3ds prevents native_firm to update during the process, so yeah, update.
