Hacking Need help with a SD card error

my friend has a old 3ds xl with a9lh Luma install he said he took out the SD card while the 3ds was on and now when he turn the 3ds off and put the SD card back in it keeps saying the 3ds can't detect the SD card and when he puts the SD card in a pc it won't let him look at the files it ask to reformat the SD card how can we save his SD card?

I know this probably isnt what you want to hear. But have you tried to format the SD card then copy over the files needed for luma again?
Or better still, restore a backup of the SD card after you have formated it. You should have a copy of the SD card if you followed Plailect's guide.

If it still doesnt work, try removing the partition on the SD card then create a new.

I have a backup on my pc but like I said it's my friends 3ds so is not with me lol and he don't have a backup since I'm the one who did the whole a9lh thing

Are you by any chance, using a microsd with an adapter?
 
No is and old 3ds so I'm using the normal size SD card
Well if your SD is truly corrupted you can try the program ZAR to recover some data. No garentees your data will come back completely intact tho


On an unrelated note, an o3ds can use a microsd if you have the adapter
 
Well is it OK to use a different SD card and put all the back up dukes in it? Or do I need to keep using the same SD card?
