Considering you can install the CIA and play the game without your 3DS ever having an internet connection and Nintendo never knowing anything about you, I think you'll be fine with just that much.

yeah i already made this choice by myself XD

Yeah, it's not our choice if he wants to play it early or not.

However, yes, there probably is a ban risk, so just turn Wifi off either using the switch on the side for O3DS or the home menu settings for 2ds and i think N3DS as well. You should be fine then, as long as you don't go back online until the game comes out.

Before opening the game turn off wifi and NFC completely using the setting or the toggle switch (o3DS) and then open and play the game, This ensures ALL communication is NULL.

Just do ourselfs a favor, and if you get banned, please don't create a topic, on how you got banned for not following common sense, and going online with an unreleased game.

It might just be me, but i enjoy every little post that i read when people get banned, for not following basic rules.

I can guarantee it isn't just you lol
I gravitate straight towards any post with the word "Ban" in it.

Could just be paranoia, but Nintendo systems love having activity logs on their systems, so even after connecting online once the game is released, couldn't they just pull that information if they had any suspicion of you and find it being played before release date?

They would have done that with sun/moon but they didn't so clearly they don't care

As long as you turn off wifi, don't send play data or usage to nintendo, you should be fine. I'd probably go that extra step of save extraction, uninstall that particular CIA, install the freeshop one, then inject the save.

Since they ask you if they can or can't, as long as you don't opt-in to send them your usage, you should be fine. I mean, even then they probably won't, but still.

Ah, wasn't quite sure the scope they used with the banning process.

Forgot about that opt-in, been so long since I used my 3DS.

I'm fairly certain there were some reports of bans even when not connected until release.

Not even just Sun/Moon.. Any homebrew that shows up would have sent a nice red flag.

I never once saw a CONFIRMED report that playing Sun/Moon before the release while staying offline has caused a ban. Every single person I've seen complaining about it was stupid and tried to use online features before the game is released. I'm still using a "version 0" .cia that everyone was so terrified of causing bans. Had the game installed several days before release. But I was smart enough to never try using any online functions in the game.

In all reality you're safe to install the game, and even play it. Hell, you can even have your WiFi enabled while playing it (I did for Pokemon Moon and I still haven't been banned...), just make sure you don't use any of the online functions inside of the game until after it's been released!

A lot of people around these parts are just being paranoid.

I like electronics that use detachable cables, that way if the cable breaks you can just swap in a new one instead of replacing the whole unit

the L hdmi adapters work great on my tv and receiver. so much less stress on the ports using them than regular cables. in that instance anyway.

i dont know why tv manufactures put the hdmi ports in dumb locations so the cables have to stick out, and then down, putting stran on the ports. Instead of having the porrs along the bottom edge of the tv facing downwards.
