Posted this in "ASK!" first but didn't get any answer so I'm reposting it here.

So my friend was messing around with his already soft-modded Wii and since then, all the games booted through usbloadergx return to the homebrew channel instead of running.

Does anyone know how to solve this?
If there's no direct solution, can I redo the entire soft-modding process? How do I get the Wii in factory condition first again?

Here's the Syscheck results:

oh your using discs still, what program are you using to run burned games?
Well I don't think he is but, would a disc drive check be necessary if I can run original copies with no issues? He uses a USB stick (I guess it acts the same as a HDD would). By port you mean USB port? If so, then yes, he used the correct one. The games show up but upon opening they automatically boot back into the homebrew launcher.

i've had something alike one day... install ios236 by ios installer for wii or wiiu (you're not a pirate)

(only for wii users)use the original Hermes cios installer using the following bases:
  • Based from IOS37 only
  • Based from IOS38 only
  • Based from IOS57 only
  • Based from IOS60 only
37 and 38 are recommended the other 2 are optional depending on your system menu version (highest system menu uses higher ios).

d2x cios installer to insall cios 247 and up using latest version for wii or wiiu using the following bases:
  • Based from IOS36 only
  • Based from IOS37 only
  • Based from IOS38 only
  • Based from IOS53 only
  • Based from IOS55 only
  • Based from IOS56 only
  • Based from IOS57 only
  • Based from IOS58 only
  • Based from IOS60 only
  • Based from IOS61 only
  • Based from IOS70 only
  • Based from IOS80 only
  • Based from IOS58 only
using ios 249 to install all cioses will get them installed but not functioning in latest system menu this isn't seen with syscheck as being wrong or so.
Remember that wiiu versions and wii versions are not the same and can't be used on the other system!!! it will brick a wii when wiiu version is used and it will brick a wiiu when wii versions are used!!!
for gamecube backubs: if you used nintendont there's nothing changed...
i forgot to say you might need to remove your forwarder channel for usb loader gx and install the latest version for wii or wiiu again

Thanks for your input! I am quite inexperienced with wii stuff so I don't fully understand all of what you said.
I have a Wii and have downloaded all the files for it and placed them on my sd card.
In the homebrew channel I know see d2x cIOS installer amd IOS236 Installer v6.
I opened up IOS236 Installer v6 and it said it patched it but then gave me an option to load IOS from sd card after which it just gave me an error saying that it couldn't open the files. Do I have to download additional files?
It'd be real help if I got more detailed instructions on how to perform all of this. Thanks!

it needs your wifi to be setup in slot1 in the setings for your wii and have no adult overwatch enabled for this, the sd card option is only usable if you know excact what you're doing, better use the network/nus option it'll download the files from the internet excact the ones needed for your system.

Thanks! Forgot to even connect the device to the internet, I was treating it like it was my own haha. Everything works flawlessly now, thanks again :D
