He was playing too, but he says that he did nothing online ingame... The only thing I saw he doing was opening local trade in the "plaza" place and entered the WT without doing any trade.
Yep! that means he went online. So, it was not your fault for banning him. It was his own. Thank you for the explanation. He was playing too, but he says that he did nothing online in game... Curious about this also, as someone in another thread said he transferred to an unbanned ds, which generated new info on the banned system and just used a nand backup to restore the second system, thus putting the ban "in limbo".Since system transferring results in error code 022-2812, does that mean we can bypass this using the method you linked to and actually system transfer the banned content to another 3DS. Leaving the 3DS clean all over again, able to make a new NNID and all? Or is the system's serial code banned regardless?

What he stated was he unlinked NNID on banned system, and transferred to unbanned console (which he had a nand backup for). After the xfer, the originally banned system was good to go, and he just reapplied the nand on the other system, thus getting rid of the banned console.Oh wow, I have a 3DS XL that I don't care about, anymore. If this worked (transfering unbanned to banned) I could save a few friends' 3DS's as well!
..Though I doubt it would be THAT easy, now would it.
Should I perhaps make a NAND backup on my New 3DS and try transfering from unbanned to banned?
I don't think I would mind if this helps you, guys. Though the LFCS from the 3DS XL is used by a friend.. would that matter?

Edit : I backed up both NANDs, and the LFCS I had on my New 3DS. No error when I enter System Transfer on my New (banned).
Edit 2 : Transfering right now, seems to be working..!
Edit 3 : Transfer complete! I just need to copy over the files from the SD of the Old to the New, as well as the New's SD to my PC, and will tell if it unbanned me or not.
Final Edit : Linking an NNID DOES NOT work. Throws error 022-2815, once again.

I forgot about this, as I also can't go new to old. What I was thinking of doing though, was using my friends 3ds (he's going to upgrade soon, giving me 2 spares) is to steal a seed just for online play as I don't care about eShop, and then transferring to the console I stole the seed from. Curious if this will give me 3 clean seeds.I know.
I can't try this method.. as I have a New and an Old XL, can't transfer from New to Old. I mostly did this to help Queno138
I know.

I would doubt it could BRICK it, but it might ban the target system. I would think a simple NAND backup of the target + NAND restore afterwards would fix it, though.I have to New 3ds. But we know if i can brick my New3ds or banned my other New 3ds ?

Ok I found something interesting. When attempting to link an ID back onto the system after an unban, It shows you the 022 error code while trying to link even though it has been removed from eshop. This may be because I am on emunand and it is taking sysnand data. But, if anyone has an explanation, I would like to know why the 022 error still exists in system settings.
I'm going to say, there is probably an encripted system ID stored somewhere else or, there is another authentification method that nintendo uses to see the system.Happens on A9LH sysNAND as well, even after System Transfer (including unban with this method).

Very probable. Yet, I know for a fact that the 3DS miners may be able to dig up the code causing this. Meaning, we may be able to link out NNIDs again even after the ban (Remember, Your NNID wasnt banned, only the system)That is exactly what I was thinking.. MAC adress, perhaps?![]()
