Hi i'm looking to get for my bro a new 3ds for his bday present and mod the ds too afterwards. i was wondering is a system with firmware 11.2 can be safely modded? as before, i remembered you had to be on 10.7 or something around there....

You can install CFW without touching tha Hardware if you are < 11.0
if not you can still hack it but you need to have a nand mod
You should use this guide to hack your 3DS https://plailect.github.io/Guide/

I'd like to say that that is not entirely true. With firmware 11.1 and 11.2 you can do the dsiware downgrade method. It is a bit more difficult and you need a second 3ds that's already modded, but it is possible to install cfw (after a lot of steps) at 11.0/11.1/11.2 without hardmodding.

Yeah but you need another 3ds and i think it is not worth the hassle ^^

So Lumaupdater just automatically closes? That's weird, i would recommend you putting a fresh arm9.bin from luma release and then trying again. Might be your luma version

I see your Luma is 6,6, maybe someone else could help you? I don't know anymore.

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

Either that or their old games were unfinished aswell but we can't notice it

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So that version is semi rare
