Hello
We don't need to have DS eshop game (like brain age) anymore to launch homebrew in offline mode
once HBL channel is installed, right ? No haxchi needed ?

You need sig. patched fw to run hbl channel even from sysNAND so you need a game anyway to load hbl and run a sig patched fw image to run the hbl channel.

installed the RC version and all working as expected in signature patched sysnand

updated to the latest ymod installer too and installed with that

great job, thanks Dimok

Hi!
I'm trying to get a .rpx file from some homebrews, i tried using elf2rpl, and it gives me a .rpx bigger that .elf (1KB) but when i try to pack it (with WiiUInstallerPackerv5, i will try NUSPacker) it gives me an error (basically the .rpx its invalid/incorrect), so i tried to change some things in the makefile like in HBL rpx commit but it gave me this error:
In file included from c:/Users/la/wut/samples/loadiine_gx2/src/gui/Gui.h:20:0,
from c:/Users/la/wut/samples/loadiine_gx2/src/menu/MainWindow.h:22,
from c:/Users/la/wut/samples/loadiine_gx2/src/Application.h:20,
from c:/Users/la/wut/samples/loadiine_gx2/src/Application.cpp:17:
c:/Users/la/wut/samples/loadiine_gx2/src/gui/GuiElement.h:22:21: fatal error: gctypes.h: No such file or directory
#include <gctypes.h>
Can you say me how to make a correct rpx makefile or "validate" an elf2rpl rpx file @dimok please?
Bye!

HBL ELF files cannot just be converted to RPX. In order to be successfully converted to a valid RPX, the ELF file needs to have specific sections and data, which HBL-format ELF files do not have.

You will need to port the software source code into the RPX environment in order to successfully convert them into the RPX format.

As for that error, do you have dimok's modified version of libOGC installed?

jo... Nobody does or knows how to do this no? I hope Dimok see this and tell me how he converted HBL elf to rpx (or how did he make the hbl_rpx commit)
I think i have the modified version of libogc but if i compile the "normal" loadiine it compiles the .elf but i modified the makefile puting some info from HBL rpx makefile and maybe i put something "crazy".
Bye and thanks for reply!
EDIT: I have installed loadiine, and SNES retro arch, Loadiine gave me an error when i tried to install it with system config tool, and retroarch at first gave me an 199-9999 error when i tried to open it, but i have done some changes and now loads the bootDrcTex and then freezed with this error:
There is a problem with the console memory
Call to the "client support" of your zone and say the error code, For obtain
contact information, read the important information
guide or visit support.nintendo.com.
Error Code: 160-2203
Bye!

I was able to port Space Game to RPX format, though without the music as that was causing issues. @dimok is actually the first person to fully pirt a program from HBL to RPX format, sound and all.

And how did you do it?
If i will install succesfully the channel, without music, it doesn't matter, i can play without it, if you want and its a bit longer, you can write me a PM please?
Bye!

Alright. Since the only issues I saw were related to old fw.img being used, I think it's time to make this version official.

Here is the first official release of HBL RPX and channel version.

https://github.com/dimok789/homebrew_launcher/releases/tag/v2.0

Since RC2 only very minor changes were made which don't affect HBL channel at all. You don't necessarily need to update to this version if you used RC2.

@Cyan can you edit the OP please?

Excuse my ignorance, as I have briefly skipped through this thread but how does this HBL RPX and Channel differ from the Haxchi DS game method? I just did a successful Haxchi install using Brain Training and did the added HBL image/text and sound editing, yet that does require fw.img to disable sig checks for it to work, as I just read that this new method requires that? Correct me if I'm wrong:)

The haxchi exploit is an exploit that loads the HBL ELF version from your SD card. It relies on hooks in Mii Maker while the HBL channel version is a real channel. It relies on nothing, has it's own channel id, own meta files and doesn't even require an SD if you use sendelf/wiiload only. The HBL channel also has way more permissions than the Mii Maker channel that is used by HBL ELF.

This installer homebrew channel installer 2.0 need ds game to install it?
No you don't need a ds game to install. You need to launch a sign. patched ios fw.img with any existing method, launch HBL from browser within that environment, install through wupclient or launch wupinstaller and install with that. This is a process that is needed once.

Last edited by dimok,
I updated the first post, but I don't know if I'm accurate. There are maybe some mistakes as I didn't try it and didn't follow the recent events since CFW.
Let me know if it needs another update.

Can you use the homebrew rpx version with contenthax? also does this now work on systemnand or do you still need to load it though sig_patched firmware? can it be installed on systemnand at all or only through cfw options?

It can be installed to sysnand and will show up but will only launch under cfw (signature patched)
