So, the Wii U's life is coming to an end.

A lot of stuff started to pop-up a bit before the leak of the Wii U's production ending...

Did the developers predict the Wii U's very near end?
Is that why they started to release stuff?
Is that why a lot of new developers are joining?

Did they really predict this? How did they do it?

Is it all a coincidence?

What do you think? :P

as an outside observer, I'd say it's a coincidence, Brazilian method drew a lot of attention, and smea released IOSUHAX code, all around about the same time frame.
Never mind iosuhax, it was released quite a while ago.

Nothing would've been possible without the IOSU exploit.

What's strange is that all this came with the end of the Wii U's life... coincidence?

It's not a coincidence at all.

A lot of this sort of thing was discussed the time when hykem let everyone down the garden path.... But it also applies here.

Basically developers, hackers, teams etc. Have concerns about being taken to court like geohot was with Sony. Nintendo are a bit more forgiving but even then a lot of these guys aren't really down with the piracy thing or claim not be anyway.

when it was clear some Brazilians had worked out how to use to tik files correctly..... A lot of these guys in the background already knew this stuff and the floodgates opened as they could no longer be blamed for piracy anymore.... It was the Brazilians who brought it out ...full Wii u piracy with online support...something loadiine couldn't do.

I have no doubt several people/teams were aware of the tickets and how they could be used. As soon as the Brazilians started advertising and said they were releasing their method everyones shackles were off and free to do what they wanted to do for a long time. Nintendo added to that by announcing the release of the switch and the final production of Wii u consoles.

Ironically in my opinion these new developments will actually push new Wii u console sales, or at least increase demand in the 2nd hand (used) market.

Wii U might have been more successful had these selfish people released their work earlier.

With the Wii U being EoL, I doubt them pushing an update that patches every exploit we currently use. They may push an update that blocks the browser exploits to stop new users, but at this point there is so much to patch I doubt they will even try to fix any of it, let alone all of it.

Agreed. Is plausible that people already new how to do "things", but didn't want to draw attention, so they just waited a little longer for a "propitious" moment to do it.

That sounds like BigN. They wouldn't bother with their, lets be a little harsh here, "failure" since they can do better with the new hardware coming out and profit a little more with the 3DS (best handheld by the moment IMHO).

Is the PS Vita even still a thing? In my eyes at this point the 3ds is really the only dedicated handheld worth buying.

Never cared much for the Vita... I've more fun with my old GBs, GameGear and such than using Vita... the only handheld I skipped buying was Vita. Its old pal, the big brother PSP was way better (for the hacking scene). Besides, I've a PS3, so nothing drew my attention to Vita. The other japanese company need to learn with BigN and give up on their "failures" earlier.

My question is, why developers are like this? they are so I hate to put this way... but, I feel like they are very selfish and don't like to share they discoveries... it frustrates me to know that there are some really smart people that develop things and make programs and don't want to share that with other developers... :(

Did you even considered their "fears" about "laws" and such? Of course we aren't talking about a Citzn4 shit of danger, but their fears are plausible.

If they release stuff too early, it will be patched. Now, assuming Nintendo doesn't manage to block everything in the next update, Wii Us will be forever hackable in the long, long future. Much better than having to scrounge around for consoles on a particular firmware, right?

I don't know, Nintendo never seemed to care about Wii U, but they did with 3DS, so I don't know what to tell you....

It aint coincende, because why would hack a console at the beginning? If they did that the game makers wont release top titles anymore..

So it is from a logical viewpoint that they did this at the end.

Same applies to the PsVita.

Vita was dead since the beginning, so we cant take it as an example xD

And with that code released (lets not forget about the fake President Candidates), more DEVs joined since they could work with it. And everything before Nintendo announcement.
If you would call me a "dev" I "joined" because I saw one "big" need in a easy way to install the hack, but I am not at the origin of any of this. The thing is, we almost have total acces to the console now thanks to iosuhax, the brazilian method is not really a hack, its more like a "thing they found" that allow us to install games very easily and its kind of funny that they found it just now. I think we have all the "raw" hack to already make coldboot and maybe something like Bootmii but I don't have enough time or skills to start exploiting these hacks. So I did what I could to help but I think the Wii U has been totally hacked since iosuhax.

I don't think its the main reason, I mean that is true in a way that Nintendo don't gives a shit anymore (maybe then when TheBotW will release) so we are pretty sure there wont be any updates, in that way its 'safer' to publish the hack now than before, but there have really been "new big games" since over a year!
