Customer service is talking out their ass, from what it sounds like. There's been conflicting accounts from multiple people from Nintendo's Customer Service. I thinik what's happening is that the workers there have no clue and are just telling the customer something so that they have an answer for affected people. Bans are handled by NoJ and they are notorious for not telling WHY people get banned.

Fell bad for the people working Customer service right now though. They are over their heads with this stuff it seems. It would suck dealing with angry banned people all day, too.

You have to look it this way. Why would Nintendo unban everyone after 15 days if they know majority played the leaked cia. Which is only available to people who homebrewed their 3ds. Once they unban us, majority can keep pirating and playing online games. It doesn't help them at all.

Looking at it logically. I think it's a perma ban.

except, they unbanned people who played sky3ds and gateway3ds with bad headers.
this is the same error code (002-0102) who prompted for them.

(which above said IS piracy)

What's your reasoning now?

I agree but then, why would Nintendo bothered unbanning those who were banned with the 002-0102 error two years ago? I mean, logically, this should be a permaban, but sometimes logic doesn't apply with Nintendo.

I do believe this is a permaban though, but if it's only the eShop ban or both eShop and Online games ban is what we will wait to see.

but what about the (minority but still good number of) people who got legit carts early? is nintendo just gonna say "oh, these dirty pirates did what they do, and you got caught in the crossfire and are screwed even though you never hacked anything"

im guessing temp ban, because they'll get a lot of bad press banning legit users. and trying to sort out whos who would be too much work for them

I've got both the 002-0102 and 022-2812 errors, but as someone pointed out earlier in this thread, going to Nintendo shop from a web browser on computer, logging in with an ID that is supposedly banned and downloading some free software actually makes it succesfully download to the console.

I tried downloading this:
http://www.nintendo.co.uk/Games/Nintendo-3DS-download-software/Swapdoodle-1155041.html
And it worked fine. My 3DS downloaded it and can run it. I suppose buying something that costs money should work too? But I'm not very eager to try it myself LOL.

BTW, I haven't done anything to try and bypass the ban at all. No idea why this even works when any other online features don't.

So if a friend of mine (from the US) were to play dumb and say she got a banned 3ds, she'd get sent to go fuck herself, right?

I'm really sorry that I can't really help much more. Doing those exact steps worked for me perfectly fine, quite a few times. I'm not a developer of anything used in the guide, so I can't make changes or anything of that nature.

If your still having issues with NNID after doing it, try using a Blank NNID. Link is in the guide.

When injecting the blank NNID and then going to system settings and nnid settings. It gives you two options to link/create a new one. Are you able to create a new nnid? or does it give u error. Haven't done the guide that u posted yet but injecting nnid , then trying to make a new nnid doesn't work

so if anyone with a n3dsxl REALLY wants to work around the ban, i have a spare us n3dsxl mobo in a drawer somewhere. nfc connector is broken, and its on 10.3 stock. but it can be yours for a very reasonable price.
This is what I did. Totally not complete yet though. We still need something for doing this automatically. I'm a big believer that Luma will be how we do it automatically.

I DID THIS ON AN O3DS. I ASSUME IT WORKS EVEN BETTER WITH AN N3DS SINCE IT DOESN'T REBOOT FOR High Memory Games!

1)Install/Setup NTR Launcher.
2)Download Process Dumper (http://gbatemp.net/attachments/processdumper2-zip.57034/) & Process Explorer (http://gbatemp.net/attachments/plugin-ntr-ram-explorer-1-2-5-beta-zip.44553/). Extract both plugins into Root/plugins/Home.
3)Turn on the 3ds, start NTR launcher. It'll dump back to the menu. if you get an error, turn off the system, turn it back on, start ntr launcher, but don't let it autoselect a mode. Manually pick any of them.

4)At the home menu, press X+Y. A menu will appear. Click A on "Process Explorer".
5)Click on PID:21. IT WILL MOMENTARRILY FREEZE. if it lasts more than a minute, its crashed. Start over from Step 3.
6)Underneath the tet RAM EXPLORER on the topleft of the bottom screen, there is a Hex area. We gotta get that as close to 0x00117636 as we can. Tap the left bar to get as close as you can, then use Up and Down or the circle pad to get even closer.

7)Once it's in range, you'll see on the far right, X-Nintendo-Device-ID.... What you want to do is click on the red EDITOR button. Now, using the dpad, make your way over to the word Device. Mess up a letter or two. Shift the numbers and letter up and down with X and Y. Example: CHange "Device" to "Devisu".
8)once thats done, click the Green WRITE button.
9)Now, scroll down a little, until you see: "Nintendo-FPD-Version". At the end of it, you see there are only 2 dots. Click the Red EDITOR button and change that to say "Nintendo-Device-ID" in teh same way you destroyed Device earlier.

10)Once it's changed, click the Green Write button. Immedietely, click the red Editor button once again. JUST before it says "Nintendo-Device-ID" which we created, we see exactly "Nintendo-API-Version..0000..."
11)Change the zeroes to any random numbers. IT MUST USE NUMBERS. Once changed, click WRITE.

Done.
_____
A few notes that are needed though:
1) Random crashes when playing with the memory can happen. Its annoying.
2) It's also temporary. Try to remember what device id you were using for next time your doing it.
3) I'm sure we can make longer, quite abit longer, device id's for even more stealth-y-ness. Unfortunetely with this simple editor, i'm not sure how to add to the code rather than just changing it.
4) If you get an Error 022-2501, then your NNID is banned. Use Decrypt9 to inject a blank NNID from here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/5g96tls1krt31n5/nnidsave.bin?dl=1
If you'd like, backup your old NNID before injecting the blank one. But if your banned, maybe you don't need to anyway.

And the biggest thing people need to know: If the system is turned off, or is rebooted, the ram change is lost. This includes Big Memory Mode such as Sun & Moon. This is why we need a way to make it happen automatically.

This is just from what i've been doing so far. I accept no responsibility for damages to your system, yadadadada legaliez.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

It does, just not High Memory Mode, so Sun and Moon/Smash/MH4 are out of reach for a while until we can see if it can be done with Luma Code.
Holy-moly does this work?

Uninstall the ticket with the ID 0004000000175e00 (Moon) or 0004000000164800 (Sun) using FBI.

That's exactly what I was trying to do but it's just not there.

EDIT: I updated to the latest fbi and it showed up. Deleted the ticket. Thank u

Customer service people are trained to tell almost pre-programmed responses to issues, if there are conflicting reports from them then that means they haven't been briefed about this enough.

I think Nintendo will eventually look this up on a case-by-case basis, if the ban is permanent then they will have to do this because a lot of banned people are going to sell/return their 3DS systems which will cause problems in the future when it comes to the used market.

Yes but as previously stated, they don't care. Used = Unauthorized sales.

Logically, unbanning takes seconds. None of this makes sense :P

If this theoretically works, how can I convert from luma to NTR?

Looking at it logically, I think it's a perma ban with case-by-case analysis if you contact them.

I contacted the Portuguese support and they replied to me saying to send my N3DSXL serial code and proof of purchase, that they would then contact me by phone to "confirm a few details".
We'll see how it goes, but I'm not hopeful because I was a dumbass and contacted them using my real email and name, which is probably tied to NNIDs I had in the past which means they'll know I was the one who got banned. Maybe you'll have better luck if you contact them as a different person and claim you bought it used.

I would be physically be unable to ask nintendo to unban my 3ds as I lost the sticker with my serial code years ago.

I was able to make a new one After removing my old NNID then doing the Ram Editing.
