Does anyone know if Sun/Moon is pre-installed in Sun/Moon N3DS editions ? If it's we could get legit cia's as usual.

Nope, but it is for the 2DS. But, the legit CIAs will only be playable on a 11.0+ FW afaik, meaning even if you install them below 11.0, you can't play them. Sooo they're pretty much useless.

Could work in theory. But I'm sure that every game would need to have its ip target changed, potentially with code.bin, luma style.

I have no knowledge in how servers work but couldn't you in theory have a link like system (xlink, whatever) with DNS settings or whatever in the 3ds settings? Like have a server, set your 3ds to connect to that instead of nintendo and then it just works?

Nope, you need to reverse-engineer the servers ask @PokeAcer about that, he would love to hear that question, and provide you with answers
