Hacking Does Homepass still work currently for 11.2?

I am currently thinking of setting up homepass for my 3DS. I heard that some parts of Homepass are no longer working on 11.2. For people who are using homepass, is it still working, and how well is it working for you guys?

I would also like to ask which is currently the best method to set up homepass, without doing to many risky modifications like changing my wifi settings, or disabling my password. I've checked many tutorials online, but I can't tell which ones are up to date, and which ones are outdated, so sorry if this question has been asked many times already.

Oh man, I used to love homepass! I personally haven't found a good or convenient method for many months. The closest I've seen is something to do with a raspberry pi. Good luck buddy, hope I solution comes up!

I don't have raspberry pi. I'm thinking of any methods still currently working that doesn't require you to modify your internet, and is a set up and forget solution. I heard there are methods that only require a wifi adapter. Have you had any experience with those?

I've tried a few but none really worked.

Yes with a workaround it still works. Nintendo just blocked the McDonalds hotspots. If you rename your hotspot' SSID to attwifi and use it without password it will work for fw11+. The McD hotspot macs will still work with it.

I have a shitty instable wifi dongle (Ralink RT2870) so I heavily patched the nzone script for my needs. It is working in a vmware-environment for one year or so without problems.

Does changing the SSID require you to change your actual wifi itself? I'm also thinking of using a wifi dongle so I don't have to mess with my internet mainly because I don't want any security issues and I also don't want to change the name of my wifi just for streetpasses.

What do you mean? Service set identifier (SSID) is just a "name" for your hotspot

This is not easily possible. That's why I use a vmware-environment so I have some 'security' (I can't really call this security, these are restrictions) and control over the network (bandwidth-limiting, vlan, etc.).
The homepass hotspot is required to not have a passphrase so you basicly open your network+internet access for everyone who is in reach of your wifi-dongle.

Windows is very limited in terms of restricting your hotspot, so I'm using linux with vmware.
The bare minimum of restrictions I suggest is to use mac-address filter so nobody except your 3DS' Macaddress is able to connect to the hotspot. I'm not sure if windows is able to do this.

No sorry I won't do this,
the instruction are not really outdated. They still all work except the McDonalds hotspot ssid.

still works for me. im using latest firmware and a9lh. if you are using android, you can use stock tethering or use app. just change ssid to attwifi must open no password only allow 1 connection so that others cant connect to your created homepass. spoof your mac from the list of homepass macs and connect your 3ds to it then wait for a sec, then your notification will lit green if success *boom *profit. but this only works if your phone is rooted. you can only homepass on 1 mac every 8 hrs but you can swap mac from the list anytime. a 30 minutes break is needed before you swap another mac. goodluck
