So in the past 24 hours ive been downloading games using wupinstaller and everything has been going great. Im installing them on a USB 2.0 32GB. All these games are games i never owned or played on my wiiu such as Paper mario or Mario maker But now i ran into a problem. before installing MK8 using NUS tool i already had Update Data, DLC, and Save Data already on my internal wiiu memory. When i installing mk8 on my wiiu via USB i tried to move my data to my usb. But what ended up happedning is my overwriting the game. So then i had to reinstall the game... sigh. Tried again but this time installed on internal memory still same thing but i didnt overwrite that time i was just seeing what option would pop up. Here is my question: Is there any way for me to use my data already on my wiiu when installing games using WUPinstaller?
Thanks.
EDIT: Just to make it clearer when i launch the game from the home menu it says "Preparing Update" when i already have the update on my wiiu along with DLC and save data.

copy first the save file, update data and DLC that you legally acquired from eshop and which is in your Wii U internal memory to your external HDD.. when all is done, now you install the game you just downloaded, it won't overwrite this time..

yes, just copy do not delete/move to external hard drive then proceed with installing game to external HDD..it will merge instead of being overwritten..

edit: of course copy them over using the Wii U Data Management..

i had that issue before, my save and game update are stored within Wii U internal and i was using a disc of New Super Mario Bros U.. i decided to go digital so i connected an external HDD, i installed the game and when i launched it, it said "updating..", so i copied over my save data and update from internal to external HDD and then the game was overwritten and disappeared on the main menu.. so i deleted everything related to the game on my external HDD, copied again the save data plus game update from Wii U internal to external HDD then i re-installed the game to HDD, this time they merged and my save file is intact and it did not ask or try to update when i launched the game..

if you still got the space on WiiU internal you could choose to install on internal..the only method i've tried is "Brazillian Method" , so unless your game is an eshop exclusive or a downloaded DLC or VC or from another source other than eshop then you are good to install, but in my opinion just a precaution you might want to copy your legitimate saves, updates and DLC to external HDD because we never know you might overwrite something..just to be safe..

Thanks for all the help! the method for my USB worked. Now if you could explain a bit better on how to install on internal memory that would be awesome.

here's the guide i used, just bear in mind only games that has both eshop and disc release and games of the same region as your Wii U can be installed onto internal Wii U memory or external HDD, no VC games or DLC from other sources yet..the process is the same except for the option where you select where you want the game to be installed, either external HDD or directly to your Wii U internal, just follow the guide here..i am assuming you already blocked Nintendo updates to stay on firmware 5.5.1 and remember always that any modification there's always a risk so no one but yourself is responsible for it..here's the guide..

https://github.com/FlimFlam69/WiiUTutorial/wiki/4:-Brazillian-Title-Install-Method

it has a link in there to a modified wupinstaller.

i successfuly installed about 9 games at the moment and one more thing, in case you are trying to install the game Pokken Tournament, pls change the special character "É" to a regular "E", by default the downloaded folder will be " POKKÉN ", just change that and there won't be any issues..

you could either download the game updates together with the main game using the app on the guide or get them via eshop, just make sure to immediately block Nintendo update afterwards..

edit: VC and unsigned DLC needs RedNand or a workaround which unfortunately i don't have any experience with but with the guide i gave you it is pretty much easy to follow and if you only care about the popular games they are all available with their game updates..
