Does anyone use actual tube hax anymore? Most people would have already downgraded or be updated past that right? I only needed TubeHax to install IronHax, which I don't need anymore that I have a9hl.

So why doesn't someone make a version of TubeHax DNS that puts Youtube back?

You're talking NDS, this is the WiiU section, and as such the info IS right.

Personally I find it easiest to block the nintendo servers on my home gateway using DNSMASQ. Simple, easy and impossible for it to go bad etc. Does require the use of DNSMASQ but has the added benefit of also providing an easy easy way to block PORN and ADs, which is exactly the level of control I want/need.

Blocking updates by using any external DNS such as tubehax etc will not work if your router or ISP redirects DNS queries.
For example, if your router is configured to redirect all DNS to get around netflix geo-blocking.

The safest way is to remove any wireless connections from your wii u. lol
If you need it for your legit games, I suggest Tubehax DNS like most of us do.
Whenever I use TubeHax DNS, I cannot play Splatoon online. My Wii isn't online at all. How do I fix that?

It looks like TubeHax DNS is currently down, which is why your Wii U isn't online at all.
Set this as your secondary DNS: 104.236.072.203
It's chncdcksn hax. That way, in case Tubehax is down again, your Wii U won't completely be offline!

Will it also work as my primary DNS?

I just have the following URLs blocked.....don't know if I have all of them...if it's overkill or what, but I do know I have had the red X at the bottom in the download list...i'm still able to play USB games online, i'm still able to download DLC, I can still access e-shop....

nus.c.shop.nintendowifi.net
nus.cdn.wup.shop.nintendo.net
cbvc.cdn.nintendo.net

nus.cdn.shop.wii.com

The best protection and the one i personal use is use two diferents internet conection. One of them are incorrect and always will fail. This is my default one.
Also turn off your console and disconnect.

Set that as your secondary DNS. It's chncdcksn hax.
That way, in case tubehax is ever down again, you can still access the internet!
Hey apparently it was something with my router settings. I had my wireless network channel one 1 and that's why it wasn't working. Thank you for you assistance
