Hi, my brother has a 3ds on 9.2, emunand 11.1. Today, he tried to access the theme shop and it said he could not use the nintendo network id on his system.

He never system transfered so, how or why is he recieving this error? Is there any way to fix this without calling nintendo?

I am ok with calling Nintendo though, it is just an inconvenience.
Also, could this be something that requires sending the system to Nintendo?
my brother also doesn't want to lose his NNID.

Thanks!

Hi Aletron9000,

I believe this is the issue I was having yesterday, but I could be wrong. My guess is that your brother unlinked sysnand and emunand, which is causing the NNID error. Also, if I recall, the error code stated previously is related to not being on the latest firmware version. Is he trying to access the NNID settings through sysnand or emunand?

If he has a 9.2 Sysnand he should inject a blank nnidsave.bin into his system. It will force unlink the NNID to which he can reconnect it. From there go into the eShop, it will give you an error and you have to quit. But after launch it again it will do the whole introduction to eShop thing and then you can use it as normal.

but his sysnand and emunand are unlinked, so isn't the NNID already unlinked?

emunand, it does have his NNID on it, I checked.

bump due to my brother really wanting sun and moon.

I know I can install a .cia, but he wants it from eshop for a legit ticket

Then do what I said with emunand. Of they are unlinked then it should not cause any more problems after doing so.

CakesFW, I know luma3ds is the most primary CFW, but he already got used to cakesfw and doesn't want to change. he will if he has to though. he is also using 9.2 menuhax
He's gonna have to move to Luma then. Also, set him up with A9LH already. Menuhax setups are deprecated by this point and quite honestly only add more wear and tear on the SD.
