The only way to run 3ds roms on 11.0 or above is through a flashcard like sky3ds. But if you'd like to downgrade you'll need either a hard mod or a separate 3ds that already has custom firmware installed.
But if you mean Gameboy or snes roms then you can purchase a primary exploit game and install and use emulators through the homebrew menu with that.

Roms on 11.1, eh?

There are 2 ways:
-Buy Sky3ds
-Downgrade your 3ds with another hacked 3ds and dsihax (or hardmod) then install A9LH

You can hardmod it/send to someone trustable to hardmod and downgrade it for you and even install a9lh + cfw for you, the best combination of hacks for the 3ds(in the end you can install CIA files(games on home menu)
See this thread for hardmodders and based on your region(brasil) contact either @mvmiranda, @V3N0MBR for the hardmod service

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Don't. A9lh+cfw is always better and cheaper and better in terms of functionality and customizability

You can only do homebrew and emulators, you can not pirate 3ds roms without getting a hardmod or a flashcart. Personally, I would advise getting a hardmod and cfw, as it protects your device, and is cheaper

did he say that he wanted to? he asked without downgrading so i presented the only option.
He didn't ask without downgrading he asked if he could load roms without a downgrade or not , not that he didn't want to downgrade. And showed that he didn't have another 3ds. Nobody mentioned the hardmod route and you showed to him immediately the sky3ds route instead of the superior hardmod route

well the best way is buy a sky3ds or wait for a way to downgrade with only one 3ds...

Thank you for your help.

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

it says it only works for the original R4, R4i Gold (r4ids.cn), R4iDSN (r4idsn.com) and Acekard R.P.G.

Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
