As I noted in my answer. But the 3DS port should have to use 3DS download play instead of DS Download play, so IDK if they changed it or removed the feature when porting.

I have the G/S/C injected in R/B/Y VC games and the local connection works (At least between them, didn't try with original R/B/Y titles).

They are official emulators, so you can try injecting games and try x)

Just keep in mind that while these do have the capability of wireless/local link cable features, they are fine-tuned to the specific game it was published with (just like most other VC titles.) It makes sense since there was no standard format back in the day for these games to follow.

The only reason we got GSC VC patches in the first place is because the main dev sifted through both Crystal and Gold/Silver's disassembly code (which you can find on the internet) and was then put through trial and error patches until we got the end result. If any other game wanted to utilise its link cable features (infa-red notwithstanding) it would have to undergo the same treatment.

As far as homebrew emulators like Gameyob go, I imagine they would have to also go through this.

I see. Is there a list of titles that have gotten patches this way? Main reason I'm asking is because of the Pokemon TCG games.

So far it's only been Gold, Silver and Crystal that have gotten patches. But I'm with you on the Pokemon TCG games getting those patches. It'd be neat dueling/trading against fellow players.

Anyway, if there's a dev out there who has time and wishes to do so, as well as there being a disassembly out there (not required per se but it helps greatly) then it could happen.

EDIT: Well there's a disassembly out there so that's good I guess.
