I have a DS game stuck in a 3DS. When I push it, it pops halfway out (as normal), but won't come out any further. There's something caught on the notch on the side. If I put a keychain card (you know the ones stores give you) in, I can push whatever it is out of the way, but it's too tight, and I can't grip it well enough to pull the cartridge out.

DONT try to PULL IT OUT BY FORCE, IT can break It,
I think you might want to take the Case off of it and try to fix it from there.
EDIT# MISTYPE FIXED*

Ok, I tried taking the case off. There's a screw behind the cartridge that has to be removed. I have to pull out the cartridge in order to remove the screw. I have to remove the screw to pull out the cartridge.

Any suggestions?

Which will not come out any further than this:

That is super unlucky does this 3DS have A9LH if it does you have three options
  1. Rip the sucker out and possibly destroy the slot holder
  2. Send it to Nintendo for repair
  3. Cry till you fall asleep

No a9lh.
  1. I can't get enough grip on the flashcart to yank it out.
  2. I'm not sure I want to send Nintendo a console with a flashcart stuck in it. And I doubt it has a warranty anyway as I bought it used. Also, you're suggesting sending to Nintendo if it has a9lh? And I'm sure Nintendo is going to charge way too much.
  3. No
I suppose it's a good cart to get stuck at least.

If I take the SD card out, I can get a tiny grip on the flashcart, but the plastic doesn't feel strong enough

I get it out with minor cosmetic damage to the flashcart (aka sawing off the top of the cartridge)
The 3DS will now no longer read any cartridge

This sucks. ALL my games are on cartridge.

EDIT: Ok, it's reading cartridges, just not detecting when they're plugged in/pulled out if the screen's open. IF I insert/remove while the screen's closed, it works

Could you send us a pic inside the cartridge holder?
