Gaming Your 3D Experiences with the XL ?

Hey there,

i had ago 3 Years a O3Ds non XL. Ago 6-12 Months i bought a O3Ds XL (i installed ago few Months successfully CFW/A9hl <3 on my XL).

Where i received my XL, i tried directly the 3D Mode out (I am a BIG 3D Fan) and i saw that i see a BIG Black Bar in my "foreground" of my Top/3D Screen :o (Not that the O3Ds XL is Corrupted, i am just telling my Experience and btw: I have Guarantee on my XL).

Well, i tried different Perspectives out but i dont figured out how i have to hold the XL because the Screen was alot Bigger XD (I done already the 3D Calibrate Setup, and the "Tutorial" with the 30Cm was not enough for me).

After 30 Minutes of Testing i figured out that i have alot of Black Bars on my Top/3D Screen after i tilt my XL to left/right down. So i started tilting it bad slowly, and i saw that the Black Bars are Gone, but i have the Problem that after founding the right Perspective, i see a BLACK "Contrast" Bar in the foreground of my 3D Screen xD.

It looks okay, no Duplicated Screens etc. it just looks like the Black Bar "goes trouch" the Contrast of my 3Ds haha.

I tried tilting a little bit up my XL and now its fine, but if i move ONLY 1CM my Head, then the Black "Contrast" bar or how i ever can descripe it, appears again.

So, is this Normal ? (I tried already every 3D Level, and at the lowest 3D Level nothing is 3D, but the 3D mode is on and i have still the Black Contrast bar Problem ).

Can someone tell me his Story / 3D Experiences too ? i am very interested .

ps.I noticed if i turn the 3D Level on MAX, and tear open/on (Bad english xD) my Eyes VERY BIG, so Far i can, i notce that the 3D Effect is much Greater and my Top Screen looks like it hasn't a Screen haha (Its very Cool).

And if i "START" crossing my eyes (i dont cross, i am before crossing, where the eyes starting seeing everything Blurred), i see indeed everything Blurred (Like my Hands,my Room, my 3Ds), but if i look at the Top of my 3D Screen while the Level is at Max, i feel like i would BE INSIDE of my 3Ds. It looks very PERFECT.

Is there no way to ENJOY the 3D Effect PERFECT without starting crossing the eyes ? i hate it if everything is Blurred, and i start crossing my eyes all the time to only get a WOW Effect. The sad thing is like i sayd, its then Blurred, thats the disadvantage.

Edit: On my non XL was it very easy to find directly the right Perspective .

Well..if you have to cross your eyes to see the effect, you should stop usong the 3d or get a New3ds XL, wich has an advanced 3d.
Or, maybe you are holding the console too near of your face?.. honestly, if you habe to cross your eyes, turn of the 3d..its not worth scrappimg your eyes for this feature,,

That's normal both for the small one and the XL. You have to find the sweet spot in the exact center for it to work well. If you haven't noticed it before getting the XL, that's just luck, or related to there being a bigger screen so the differences show up much earlier.
The new 3DS has much better 3D and you can enjoy it from any angle without those issues, so I would definitely recommend one if you care about 3D.

I dont CROSS really my Eyes, i "Press" my eyes so everything looks Blurred, but the 3D effect is alot better (It feels that i am INSIDE of my 3Ds. WIth my Non XL i just had depth effects, same with my XL, but if start this "Crossing/Pressing" on my eyes, it looks really better than Nintendos 3D Plans was for the 3Ds..

I think the Perspective is the Problem and i need a Tipp to figure out how i get the right Perspective to fix the Black Contrast Bar^^.

And yeah i think too its Normal with the right Spot. I think its because my Eyes start automatically Crossing because they get Duplicated Screen, so they Adjust the Screen.

As of right now, I don't think you should worry too much about getting an unhackable firmware. You have a hacked 3DS already, so even 11.0 can be hacked if you buy fieldrunners on your current 3DS and transfer it to the n3DS. But more than that, only certain recent limited edition consoles have come with 11.0, I haven't heard of any regular models coming with that yet. So you wouldn't even have to do that if you got a regular model.
I can't say I know what you mean by that black bar though, I don't think I've ever experienced that.

Regular models (black and red) have been shipping with 11.0 in US for nearly a month and a bit longer in some other regions. The only sure bet to avoid this now is buying from a physical store while using a serial number reference guide.
