Tell me more sir mac. O_O

How will it be faster?
do you not remember?
I know what CTRNAND is and everything, but I don't understand, how this will be useful for arm9loaderhax installation? Can someone explain this to me please?
you'd be able to use a pre-built 2.1 CTRNAND image to go to 2.1.0-4 and install a9lh. no more setting up rednand and things.
FASTER a9LH INSTALLATIONS O_O

AWESOME :D

if you just got it, I would recommend you format it before you start downgrading.

https://github.com/Plailect/Guide/wiki - I would just doing parts 1 and 2 for now (to downgrade to 9.2.0-20U), because this guide will get a big update soon to make it much easier and faster.

How do I format, then after that just click on part 1 and part 2 on this link and follow it?

THank you ihaveamac! I have just reformatted, now will begin part 1 and 2.

Oh forgot to ask, is it safe to enable wifi connection now, or I have to do something to prevent the 3DS from doing automatic update? I don't want to get the latest firmware without asking me.

3DS never automatically updates. just don't accept update prompts.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I'm getting stuck on the red screen when trying to perform part 1.
you didn't put the necessary files on the SD card. or you didn't put the SD card in properly.

You're right hehe, part 1 done. I will now do part 2.

Reinstall menuhax using browserhax and the HomeBrew Launcher (you do not need to reconfigure, just press install in menuhax_manager)... this step here is basically part 1 again after I downgrade right?

Well well I did the browserhax again, and just reinstall and just reboot, now I'm not seeing anything on my screen at all. I hold down the power button and still nothing when it booted up.

Try Luma 5.5 or lower. 6.0/6.1 have issues and the guide isn't up to date on them (the guide was last updated for 5.5 I believe so should work as written for it).

Edit: do you mean you can get into the homebrew launcher and then when you try to boot Luma you get a black screen (in which case try what I said above)? Or that you get a black screen on boot? In which case take out your SD card and try to boot again.

After googling the issue, it turn out to be the sdcard, when I pulled it out it work. So what to do next? I tried booting in the homebrew menu but it won't work without the sdcard inserted. I found this https://www.reddit.com/r/3dshacks/comments/3zcm47/psa_if_after_downgrading_you_have_a_black_screen/ but I'm afraid if I delete that I will brick my DS.

Sweet, thanks qcat! I'm backing up sysnand now. So after downgrading, I should wait for a better guide soon? Would someone please message me of where to get the guide when it comes?

Well, I finish backing up the nand, and reboot but got the black screen again. Is this a continuing issue as long as I reboot with the memory card in?

If you set up menuhax, and then change firmware (downgrading or upgrading) you'll have the same problem since the payload won't match the actual firmware you're on. Once you have reinstalled menuhax for the new firmware you won't have to install it again (unless you upgrade/downgrade again).

The guide will still be at Plailect's GitHub, the same guide you used for parts 1 and 2, but the rest of the parts will change. If you want a9lh within a week you should just do it now (copy and paste the text of the guide, and download all the files linked and put them in folders on your computer called Part 3, Part 4 and Part 5, in case anything changes while you're doing it). The new guide was announced as coming "in a few days" more than a month ago so I wouldn't be holding your breath waiting for it.

I did reinstall the browserhax (part 1) but after reboot, it is still showing black screen. I will try it again from the very beginning to see if it works. so a9lh is the cfw that will allow me to play .3ds rom and .cia rom?
