Hacking 3DS NOOB PARADISE - Ask questions here

Hey! I got a O3DS downgraded to 2.1.0 but the browser didn't work, so according to Plailect's Guite, the best course of action was to update to 4.x with a game then use Decrypt9, but even on 4.4 right now, the browser freezes instantly when I open it. I got the console downgraded with the help of Fieldrunnners. Can I just update to latest version and re-do from there?

So fair warning I'm new to forums and really trying (hopefully) to learn about 3ds hacking so bare with me here. Ie I might need some hand holding or might ask a bunch of common knowledge 3ds questions so heads up.

Anyway here we go I have a O3DS with Firmware 4.5.0-4U and a 2GB SD card. I atleast right now want to get homebrew so I can use pkhex for my pokemon games. It seems like there are multiple ways to get homebrew launcher so that's my first question what should I do first. I tried to watch videos to learn but those all seem to be very finicky. conflicting results or the method no longer works etc. so I guess the first of my many noob questions is which Hax should I try to get to get homebrew on my 3DS. Sorry for the very novice questions just jumping into this with no prior knowledge and trying to absorb everything can be a bit overwhelming and intimidating plus I'm afraid I'm going to brick my 3ds. this will bring you up to 9.2.0-20U. you can set up custom firmware and things then.

I have a n3DS on 9.2 with Reinand installed and I tried updating my 3DS while on Reinand in order to access online features. Now that ive done that I can't seem to access Reinand. I can still access Homebrew through coldboot and my SysNAND is still on 9.2 but whenever I try to enter ReiNAND it stays on a black screen. What should be my next course of action?

Edit: OK nvm. Looks like my Reinand was just outdated. Replacing it fixed it and I also got some nifty new features with it!

is this possible to view .3ds file data after hacking( root like root android ) 3ds console? can i transfer file data from 3ds console to computer? How to that?

Can anyone tell me if I have to format my 2DS (with a9lh) before I system transfer to a new 3ds xl using the dsiware downgrade method?
I have installed games from freeshop that's why I ask.I also already created an NNID and bought fieldrunners and installed the public.sav

On my A9LH I'm installing games using Freeshop but is it actually possible to download the CIAs from Nintendo's servers so that I can skip past the downloading in the future and go straight to installing or is this where I have to go to "that 3ds site" for?

uhh, im not really sure what your question is. freeshop already downloads from nintendo servers.

You need a 3ds to put the data retrieved from the server into usable data (and to send titlekeys). I am not sure about the freeshop, but ciangel leaves the cias on your sd card until you delete it yourself.

Ahhh that sucks. I already went on an installing spree with Freeshop. If I had known CIAngel would leave the CIA behind, I would've chosen that.

menuhax installs itself as a theme, you have to configure it to use a different theme.

1) 3DS carts? You mean the actual 3DS game carts themselves? If so, then yes.
2) Yes you will be able to access the eShop.
3) I don't know about the downloaded games.
4) Yes you will be able to play online with any game cart.
5) Yes you can buy themes from the theme shop without any issues.

Hi,
I am now at part 4 from Plailect's Guide thank to you and starting section V.but something strange happened:

At section IV, I installed tiny format the second time and when I opened it from the gift icon it said something about save data backup not found or failed.
When the format finished and booted to sysNAND the theme has changed to the redNAND's theme (black) and had to reinstall menuhax, is that normal?

I also rebooted to RedNAND and went to the initial setup again and from FBI I installed plaisysupdater and the same pop up " error-save data backup not found" showed up.I never used the save data backup function..

also I have put the sd card to my PC and now I have 3 nintendo 3DS folders?did something went wrong?

It is my second time following this guide but N3DS XL doesn't behave the same as my 2DS and I didn't have these problems before..

I have 3 systems
1. System I do not want to hack that has purchased content
2. A9LH system that has no NNID or anything purchased
3. A 2DS on the latest firmware with a couple of purchased games

I am wondering in order to install the hack on the 2DS will I have to lose those purchased games? It seems system transfer overwrites one system and leaves the other formatted, is there no way to merge the contents of two systems on to one?

I am thinking I have to format the 2DS and lose stuff in order to install the a9lh but I thought I would ask. Also is NNID required for either the system transfer or the purchase of field runners?
