Hello all. Forgive me if this is the wrong forum for this question, but after searching around, this seemed like the most fitting.

I installed arm9loaderhax using Plialect's guide, and everything went smoothly. However, due to the multiple system formats involved, I can no longer access my Fire Emblem Fates extra saves (saves 4-9). I still have a backup of the SD card I had been using with it. I had not done anything with this SD card other than normal 3DS operation, so the saves should be on there just as Fates saved them.

Is there a utility or a way to restore these saves now that the hacking of the 3DS is complete? I've tried researching it but it seems like there are so many save tools and I don't know where to start. Plus I'm new to 3DS modding in general, so I want to make sure I do the right thing. For the saves themselves, I have been searching for some time but I haven't been able to even figure out where on the card the saves are, much less what to do with them. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks!

3ds hacking is not complete. you will have to restore the nand backup linked to that data for it to work. jksv i think has the ability to backup and restore those saves, and i know savedatafiler can do it (you will have to find this by yourself)

That makes sense, thanks for the reply!

So what I'm understanding from this is, I should directly restore the original sysNAND, back up the saves through browserhax using a utility, restore my current sysNAND, and restore the files. Is the process actually this straightforward? In particular, is it safe to restore the original NAND directly and then restore the hacked NAND afterwards, or is there more to it than that?

Someone else will have to confirm, but emunand9/hourglass9/whatever should be able to safely restore a nand with a9lh

I've got the same problem. I tried using the .3dsx version of JK's save manager before formatting, but it kept crashing with some of my games so I could only backup about half of them. (Menuhax wouldn't install for some reason, so it got too tedious to keep trying.) So, ideally I'd like to inject FBI into my old NAND backup so I could install the CIA version of the save manager, but I've been hesitating because I'm worried about breaking something. Will it automatically keep A9LH or would I have to pick something specific? Maybe I could setup rednand again and restore my old backup to that?

Update: I tried restoring my original sysNAND in order to get into the saves, but even though I tried restoring it as both sysNAND and emuNAND (using HourGlass9), neither one will boot. Is there anything I can do here? The original sysNAND is firmware 10.7.0 if that matters.

I haven't gotten around to trying anything yet, but does The SD card you are booting off of have luma and the other files necessary for al9h to boot? Just a thought.
