So, my original question still hasn't been answered - is this the CtrlChicken exploit or not? If it isn't, I'd like to have a go at implementing it, ts'all.

general community: don't expect that to happen, I ain't going near the IOSU without a hardmod and I can't afford a Teensy ;D
>mfw I could afford a Teensy
>bought two
>both didn't work

edit: You should have a go at it anyway, fiddling around with memory shouldn't do too much harm...
...right?

Well, one of the fail0verflow guys permabricked their Wii U by playing with a innocuous crypto function.

fail0verflow.

Permabrick.

I'm waiting until I can afford a Teensy ;D

Well it's being worked on, not necessarily for a release but that's probably what'll happen, don't have any due dates this time, it's just working and when it's done it'll (probably) be distributed

Well, in that case, best not to ever get my hopes up, a lot better that way. See that way, if it doesn't get released (which sounds like a higher probability), you won't get set up for disappointment. :creep: So really, it's seemingly nothing more than build up on anticipation that yields little results, as far as I'm concerned, IOSU should've never been hyped up if it never gets released, but that's just me :P

We're not talking vulns before release just in case N takes notice and patches stuff in advance.

Oh also update to 5.5.1 while you still can. That's all for now! I actually don't wanna generate much hype until things are more settled.
I don't to be that guy, but I have to make that question again.
Are you guys saying all of those who have <5.5.1 should update to that FW version?
I am on 5.3.2 and haven't updated because of all the fuss going around about 5.3.2 being the best version to stay on for further hacks, same goes for IOSU since it was mentioned 5.5.1 would take some more time to be ported to.

So, stay on 5.3.2 (spoofed) or update to 5.5.1?

I just happened to be lucky I forked his repo before he deleted it. He did all the work on it, and I have no idea why he deleted the repo, but it looked to be a really great repo.

People told me that too, Loadiine GX2, HBL, all of the apps so far work on 5.5.1 perfectly fine, I don't think that those on there are locked out, heck, even NWPlayer123 said she was on that FW as well. Between 5.3.2 and 5.5.1, there isn't much difference in the libraries, or so I was told by other devs.

It wasn't necessarily a fake countdown. It was a broken Javascript countdown that I never bothered to fix. But as the IOSU Exploit currently is, it's pretty useless, so it wouldn't even be worth sharing.
If anyone has the ability, I'm looking for someone to help with a ROP chain on ARM so MN1 and I's work can progress. We have basic IOSU userspace right now (using that bug that was leaked, also known as Hykem's bug), but MN1 has been gone for a good while. So if you do have experience, PM me. 5.3.2 is required as well, for now anyways.

I can't be bothered to update an offset due to me not knowing where to find it without a heap dump.

You should be able to update to 5.5.1 offline later.(if all works out).

I did not have repo forked but had archived the different commits. So with the license, it should have been able to be spread.

Everyone who is working on iosuhax is on 5.5.1, you can stay on 5.3.2 and wait for a port, but updating within redNAND isn't supported and is really iffy. At the very least it would definitely be possible to update redNAND manually with updated titles.

So update to 5.5.1 it is then.
Might update my Wii U tonight then :p
Thanks!

The strange thing about my problem is that i did EVERYTHING RIGHT,the files in the right folders, the loadiine website but nothing...

the game freeze at the loading screen after i load the game...

You seem to have posted in the wrong thread.

EDIT: Apparently you created a thread and no one answered. My fault. This isn't the best thread to ask that. Try also in the loadiine GX2 one.

So 5.5.1 is now the new golden firmware, if I understand correctly? I'm still on 5.3.2, spoofed and working perfectly with my router setup. Is there any point to update with my current setup? Apart from installing game updates manually, nothing's been problematic on my side.

Id like to know this too, find a game with 5.5.1 on and then we wont have to worry about it :p
