See any posts complaining that they cant run any popular HB's because they're FW is not supported ? Seeing none of that nonsense anymore on the forum is enough proof itself.

Not at all, I'm merely asking for a post on where the whole 5.5.1 was stated to be compatible originated, nothing more :P That's all I'm trying to find out, all I'm getting are people who state that it is working on 5.5.1, but I can't seem to find a post on what can't be used with 5.5.1. :D

Kernel exploit leaked that's compatible with most 5.x.x firmwares. It's very stable. Look at the Definitive Guide for more info on how to set it up

Edit: Whoops, this IS the Definitive Guide XD Anyway, yeah, check the OP, especially the guide to upgrading section. I'd recommend you stay on 5.3.2, but 5.5.1 is now fully compatible if you accidentally upgrade past it

Major edit: The issue has since been resolved, there were misunderstandings on my part and I assumed that I corrupted files, or messed the update process. Turns out, I had missing files that needed to be brought up to date, sure enough after that, loading the exploit worked like a charm :P Boy was my face red lol :D

Apologies about that last post.

Why would you update if you were already good to go?

As for proof that 5.5.1 is supported, it came out at the beginning of the year with no new releases, all the hacks work 100% on them, and several people that are known to have worked on the supposed exploit confirmed that they were pretty much just as vulnerable. There's literally no reason to stay on any firmware that isn't 5.5.1 unless you are on an exploitable firmware that's spoofed and you're good to go, or you want to play it safe for some illogical personal reason.

*Sigh* I have no words, really, other than I feel pretty bad for doubting the safety of the real 5.5.1 update, which many, including NWPlayer123 are on. Tubehax is pretty much unstable and useless given how often it crashes, and given that IOSU exploit is reported to be usable on 5.3.2 and 5.5.1, I mean really, what have I got to lose? The primary reason I was on 5.3.2 was because for a while, HBL, LoadiineGX2, etc only worked on FW before 5.5.x and now that they work, I might as well. It'll make getting on the eShop a lot easier for me anyways. I'm not bereft of emulators/ROMs as I have other devices I can play, so it's not a deal-breaker, I wasn't sure what happened, or why, etc. My apologies.

ioctlvhax = illogical personal reason

No idea what that means lol.

IOSU userspace exploit, <5.2 only. Public, it's just that everyone updated to 5.5 so nobody's actually been able to develop it. There's a thread about it somewhere.

*Shrug* I don't really have any programming expertise under my belt, so, I mean, did I make an egregious slip up? Then again, I was on 5.3.2 before, so I guess that's a thing.

I'm kinda staggered how much everyone wants an IOSU exploit, considering how they have a public one that they forgot about and are now actively stopping people from using. Although again, it's just details of an exploit, not a nice ELF you can run (yet). If you ever see someone who might have programming experience, make sure they don't update to 5.2 or higher.

Well, I don't know how to respond to that, other than the fact I'm kicking myself for never completing my programming courses at my university (long story), and that I don't know where I'd even begin. That being said, I don't know what's going to happen, hacking scene-wise, to those who updated to 5.5.x at the advice of others. It's not like I can undo it on my console or anything. I've been trying to hold out, for something, i.e along the lines of a port of Bsnes, Mupen64 Plus, that runs full speeds, because the Wii was far too weak to do either emulator justice, I...don't know.

To be honest, I reckon at this point it'd probably be better to not develop ioctlvhax since it would create that whole 5.3.2 kexploit thing again. After all, 5.5 IOSU is "just around the corner"

If you think about it, there wouldn't really be a point in developing a hack that no one can use, since everyone's on 5.5.1 because there's no real good reason for the average user to be on anything else. That being said, it sucks that that particular vulnerability is closed to the majority of users.

I'd still argue that it's probably better not to tell people to upgrade so they can't use it.

I only tell people who are trying to use Loadiine and are having issues to update. If all they want is to pirate games, then 5.5.1 is the best version for that. The fact that the hacks work on the latest firmware make it extremely easy and painless for users to play "backups," that even novices are using Loadiine. These users are most likely not going to be interested in an IOSU exploit, since it will probably enable NAND-writing, causing chances of bricking.

Another reason people are trying this is because there's zero risk involved.

9. For Primary DNS enter: 104.236.072.203 (recommended) or, for Tubehax (which will not let you access YouTube) enter:107.211.140.065.

What DNS is the one you're recommending? I haven't seen it before. Tubehax seems to be down at the moment, as I can't do anything internet related on the Wii U with it set.

I forget how you spell his name, but its by a committed user from the community that runs a DNS similar to Tubehax, except it actually stays up a majority of the time. It's the first DNS that's bolded. Highly recommend it. There's also that new DNS that was running a while back in this forum, can't remember what it was or who ran it, but it seemed to be highly reliable as well.

Are you referring to NinjaCarver?
