edit this is not supposed to be rude. That's just the type of (secondary) question that people should wonder when they're (primarily) wondering something, in order to find the answer to the first question themselves.

At the end of the day, this is also why any knowledgeable user on this forum will tell you to NEVER install "Gateway Fastboot" and simply install the "real" A9LH via plailect's guide. You can still use gateway with it, it just takes some basic forum searching/reading skills to figure out how. (Or, you know, ask nicely in the right existing thread.) Even the die-hard Gateway fan boys will tell you to install A9LH via Plailect's guide and avoid "gateway fastboot" like a plague infested hooker.

Try telling that to some of the Maxconsole forum GW posters lol.

No, the freeshop installs the "digital version" of a game, as if downloaded from the eShop or installed from a .cia, but it doesn't download rom dumps in .3ds format that you could use from your red cart. So even if freeshop could download to that SD card (which it couldn't easily do anyway due to Gateway not being open-source), it wouldn't make them playable so that's not what you want I guess.

So... anyone know what's the deal with gateway mode and sig-checks? I have a n3ds Jap a9hl w/ USA Emunand (Yes.. I still use emunand) but when I access emunand via gateway mode, my NNID stops working, if I try to access for example, badge arcade, it gives me an error that I cannot use that NNID. lol USA NNID on USA Emunand.. strange, but under normal numa cfw when accessing emunand it works fine.

Hey all. I'm attempting to follow the guide Gateway made and I'm stuck right now. My N3DS is on GW9.2-USA. I did EMUNAND. Wifi is connected and configured. I went to the time machine ROM but for some reason it keeps saying: Fatal error: Wifi is not configured. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.
I did Emunand formatted. I checked to make sure wifi was connected, but its just not having. it.

The gateway card holds dumps of cartridge games, while freeShop downloads the digital version that you'd get from the eShop. Two different things.

You could always just give up and use the community tools. You should really have a hardmod installed if you try Gateway's method since it's so dangerous.

I've used this to launch my payloads:

But when booting the gateway payload, the splash screen comes up with a prompt on the bottom screen:
(With 3.7.1 doesn't have the prompt, but then I need to close and reopen the screen to fix the 3D.)

With 4.1b
You want to boot GW Fastboot: Sysnand?
Press L+R+Select to continue.
Press B to cancel.

With 4.0b
You want to boot A9LH Sysnand?
Press L+R+Select to continue.
Press B to cancel.

(4.0b and 4.1b allow me to hit that button combination and launch the payload successfully)

Is there a way to get rid of this prompt?

I wouldn't mind using BootCTR9, but while all other payloads launch, Gateway doesn't. The N3DS just shuts back down.

Unfortunately the message is part of Gateway's Launcher.dat file. It is a warning to verify that the user wants to boot into gateway sysnand mode. The only way I know of to not get that message is to use an emunand.

All Gateway versions from 3.7.1 support 11.0 emuNAND. To update your system, just go into system settings and hit system update.

okay thanx for the tip, so if i update my system that is on 3.7.1 GW FW, i'll go to 11.0?

If you are not planning to use A9LH, stick with the 3.7.1 version of Gateway. 4.1B does not contain any new features related to the cfw itself. All changes are related to loading via A9LH.

yeah, thanx for the info, 4.1b etc sounds too complex to install etc, i'd keep my system as is rather than risk a brick with 4.1b.

You just drop the 4.1b launcher.dat in your SD card like you always do. You only need to do the complicated extra steps if you want to install A9LH.
