ROM Hack How to convert .rom to .nds?

I'm trying to get a pokemon randomizer to work but it will only accept .gb , .sgb , .gbc , .gba , and .nds files. I'm trying to get it to work for oras, and as far as I know there aren't any legitimate 3ds ( .nds ) roms on the internet because there isn't an emulator that can run them well enough yet. I built the rom file using the romfs builder included in this hacking toolkit. Is there any way for me to convert it to something the randomizer will accept? If not, are there any oras files that I can use (that my game cartridge will accept)?

Doesn't work like that. NDS/GBA randomizers have nothing to do with the 3DS. Grab pk3DS, it can randomize ORAS ROMs iirc.

Also, there ARE 3DS ROMs online, they're not *.nds . NDS ROMs are for the Nintendo DS. Generally, Nintendo 3DS ROMs are .3ds, .3dz, .cia .

I'm actually having some issues with pk3ds lol... At first I was getting error messages about "cleaning unnecessary files" from the folder, which I assume means that it was either too big or small for the game to accept it? I dumped the files again and got a different message:

(and here is a screenshot of the romfs_ folder, which seems oddly empty? I used to do acnl rom hacking and it took much longer to dump/extract those files... And I assume that oras is a much bigger game. I'm pretty sure there is something wrong with this but I'm not sure what I did wrong lol).

Your extracted files seem ok. That error message is probably appearing because you're attempting to access your romfs folder which is in a directory requiring admin access to write to.
Try moving your romfs folder to your desktop

thanks! I'll try that. Also, can you randomize pokemon using pk3ds?

I think i figured out what the issue was - i didn't delete the romfs.bin after extracting all the files from it... It worked after I deleted it anyway lol. Another question: because i'm editing game files and not a save file, will I have to run this through hans?
