Hardmod like this one are really dangerous. User can revert the fakeSD adapter and thus changing ALL the connections between the EMMC and the card reader. Please start making non-revertible hardmods and stop allowing users from connecting them wrong.
Yeah I've got a load of JST plugs on order. I just had a load of pin header to hand and that's my personal console.
Reversing the polarity isn't actually dangerous to the NAND it just won't mount. All the mods I do moving forwards will use micro JST and silicone coated wire.
A lot of modders seem to use cat 5 wire. Problem with this is the sleave melts back when you solder, leaving more exposed conductor than I like to see on SMD heavy boards like these.
Sadly, I must strongly CAUTION anyone considering the use of Hundshamer for a hardmod.
Hundshamer agreed to hardmod with a plug under the battery cover, so I sent him a N3DS in December 2015.
Not only was the mod in the wrong spot (case irreversibly cut), the mod itself didn't work, nor did parts of the 3DS.
TO BE CLEAR: I am not saying the quality of the holes or mounting is poor... it was a beautiful mod, just in the wrong spot. And the mod didn't work.
I'm paranoid, so I dumped the NAND repeatedly, without powering off the 3DS.
The dumps were corrupted. See utility, likely cause was faulty CLK line...
... and the touch screen didn't work.
Hundshamer was responsive in February, and with his guidance, I unscrewed it and checked a couple places for loose cables, without luck. So, I sent it back to Hundshamer on February 4th.
TLDR; I still don't have working unit after six months.
Hundshamer had many excuses over the months, "went dark" multiple times, and didn't responded to occasional requests for new ETAs... and this from one who purposefully asked at most once every two weeks.
When his excuse was final exams, I rode it out.
When his excuse was lacking parts due to Chinese New Years, I sent him a gift of those parts.
About a month ago, he wrote that two cables were busted, and would need to order parts.
He still hasn't confirmed if the CLK line was fixed, or otherwise validated the mod works properly.
Now, his excuse is something about his ISP.
Generally, only about 1/3 of my requests for any update (sent every 2 weeks) were answered.
Now silence for over a month... that's not an ISP problem...
It's possible that this is all real, and Hundshamer simply sucks at responding to emails from people who've already paid him.
But, I would check if you have other options available first, as there's some risk here....
@Selver its nothinf really new. There is post all.over the place. What i dont understand is the purpose of ordering from china when the parts can be sourced here in the states. I know this, because we use the same parts. 6 month turn around time is beyond me as well. Even 3 week turn around time is beyond me.
Next time research who you send it off to would be best.

well as far as i knew he had resolved all the backlog but i don't know the whole story with this stuff, thats why its important for people to offer their feedback on here, especially if you get a less than satisfactory service, don't get me wrong i know there was 1 or 2 consoles i did where something was overlooked or something knocked loose in the return postage, but to the best of my knowledge anyone that had a issue has had their issue resolved but i always get back to people within a couple of days, most of the time the same day though
Hi, I have had this O3DS just sitting around for 3-2 months bricked, I enquired about hardmodders back when I bricked it doing the A9LH setup, I have the NAND back up for 9.2 of this 3DS I want the NAND to be restored what are my options? I am in the UAE, I don't mind shipping it through Fedex or DHL, but please be explicit in your prices and the method of shipping.
Sorry but you have only two options: hardmod your 3ds in order to restore the nand backup or update via original cart that contains update data. (Search in the forum, I'm sure I seen a list of carts divided in update versions).

Sorry, i prefer not to say prices in the forum, but I do downgrades from 11.0 max and nand restores (or both) at a very competitive price. Please contact me via PM.
@StandardBus isn't going to be able to contact you either, is he is also below the required number of posts for initiating private messages. I think the minimum number of posts for that privilege is 100, also the same number required for using the trading forums.

Not certain of required post count for opening a pm. I just know that there is a minimum though, which is mainly to keep out the spam bots, that spam by pm.
I almost forgot! My n3dsXL is hardmoded and back thanks to @gamesquest1. Everything works flawlessly and was done in no time with both shipping and downgrade.
