Using a ZTE Maven 5.1. Dunno if anybody made a rooting method for the Lollipop devices. Superuser, KingRoot, etc. Which rooting method would be best for it?

I'd say perhaps look into it via Google some more - I looked briefly and I couldn't find much of anything specific.

ZTE are pretty much generich chips inside, V-ROOT or KingRoot will do the job. this also avoids getting more and mroe into the system, UNLESS and just UNLESS the bootloader needs to be unlocked.

Also @LuxerWap let me know if it worked! ;D

What if it gets bricked? Its better to just go with the Kingroot method then change it to SuperSU just in case to evade a brick or something similar :3
well. it won't get bricked if the correct files are used. if the wrong ones are used, just get the right ones and try again. (you don't even have to reflash stock)

install a custom rom (google)
flash supersu.2.74.zip with it

You cant be that vague over installing a rom on an android device, since, first of all, you dont know i the boot loader CANT bee unlocked, then if the bootloader NEEDS to be unlocked for Root, sometimes it does not, on HTC it does, as well on most Samsung.

Know, AFAIK, ZTE does not have that kind of community support sadly, however, telling the user go to google and install a custom room its not the best idea.

Avoid installing a custom rom (if available, im 98% sure there is not), for now, knowing that you forgot how to root a phone, means that for know installing a custom rom its a no no. first read if there is a custom room, if not, just root, and use "Android App Master Uninstaller"
to uninstall System Apps, this will de-bloat some of the unneeded apps, but first try to root, using Vroot or Kingroot.

Maven's boned. The best you can get is a temporary root; there's a NAND-lock which prevents write access to the system partition. You can get temp root with Kingo and maybe disable some of the stock apps, but that's about the extent of it. The generic command used to unlock NAND via ADB doesn't seem to work on any of ZTE's prepaid devices. I'd be upset but I only paid $20 for mine, and I'm replacing it with an LG G4 anyways.

Its there any specific reasons you want your phone rooted?
The WiFi Tether Router app and a screen recorder. My Vita can't play games online because my phone's Mobile hotspot is set on NAT 3. With WTR, I could great a new hotspot using NAT 2 to play online, but that app only works for rooted devices.
