Before I go do the impossible, how hard would it be to port FMOD? I didn't see any Windows exslusive code in (most of) the header files and it doesn't take a lot if code to play an audio stream.

For those of you who don't know, FMOD is a WAV/MP3/OGG codec (somewhat).

I don't think we can port GMod to the 3DS. It would certainly be nice if we could, though.

Gmod can barely run well on PC's. The chances of being able to port that to a 3DS are lower than the chances of the Wii U selling as well as the Wii did.

But, yeah..why FMOD, there's superior codecs, I believe.

Wow what the hell kind of computers have you had? I've never seen GMod run <60 fps unless you go beyond spawn limits and do extreme fucked up crazy shit.

You say that like the GPL is a bad thing.

LPP also drags in libogg and libvorbis, fyi. Those do the bulk of the work.
@catlover007 might be from SC so maybe GPL is bad in his eyes :rofl2:

I don't think GPL is necessary something bad, I said this because of other people who might come here, copy code from there and have to release their code under GPL.

In general I think that other licenses like MIT or Apache are nowdays, where big companies aren't that evil anymore, in many cases more useful for everybody than licenses with copy left, which creates somekind of sub kosmos.

In general - this is a very heated debate. Permissive or copyleft.

I personally feel the GPLv3 is needed for things that should be auditable, but on a game engine or sound library it has no place.

Anyways, OT.
