I am running an Old 3DS with reiNAND.

Problem:

1) Running Super Smash Bros. on Cart works but when I press the Home Button, the game freezes and doesn't go back to home menu. Have to Hard Reboot. Happens in both emu and sysNAND.
2) Running Super Smash Bros from the downloaded game results in it saying "An error has occurred. Hold Power Button to restart."

-----It works fine on my N3DS on reiNAND using the same cart and same downloaded game.

I've searched and other had this problem also but no solution.

I think that the problem is that depending on the version, ReiNAND doesn't support reboot patches. Smash 4 (along with Monster Hunter 4) instigates a reboot on the o3DS to run it, but not the n3DS due to its upgraded hardware. When it reboots to start the game, ReiNAND doesn't know what to do.

At least that's what my Google-Fu is indicating.

This has been a long-time problem with Super Smash Bros. and Monster Hunter. I don't think you're likely to have the same problem with Luma3DS.

Thank you guys. I don't want to risk switching the CFW on my O3DS. However, when I use the SSB Cart on my O3DS it says I don't have the latest update and the save data needs to be reset. I have downloaded the latest 1.1.6 and installed it and it still happens. When I plug it into my N3DS that only had update 1.1.5 loads the data just fine.

Okay so, I copied the files over. Edited Boot.cfg to make it use Luma3DS.dat. However, in Luma folder there is nothing in there. Unlike the rei folder that had a few stuff. Do I copy the stuff from rei folder to Luma folder?

Also what does offset do?
offset = "0x12000";

This is normal. And you can remove offset. It should be set by default if you remove it.
The empty folder is also normal. Luma auto generates all the important files.

The only thing you're going to have in your luma folder are your config file, which will generate itself on first boot, and additional payloads. It's fine if it's empty.

I booted up Luma, so going from reiNAND to Luma3DS which do i choose?

Autoboot into SysNAND
SysNAND is updated (A9LH-only)
Force A9LH detection
Use 2nd EmuNAND as default
Enable region/language emulation
Show current NAND in system settings
Show GBA boot screen in patched AGB_form
Enable splash screen with no screen-init

Thank you for the replies guys. However, in Luma3DS, Super Smash Bros. doesn't work at all now. Cart and Downloaded. After i start them both and it passes the Nintendo 3DS logo screen it just goes to a black screen. I have waited 4 minutes in case of loadup time but it still remains black. Other games work fine.

Hmm. Are you running in sysnand on 9.2?

You have to use the pathchanger first, check here for instructions. ;)

Where do I find the Luma3DS.bin, there's the Luma3DS.dat, but when I drag the .dat into the pathchanger it says to type a 37 character payload path. There's nothing in my luma-payload folder, there's only a "config.bin" in my luma folder.

If you're on Reinand that one has some RAM issue's with some games including Smash bros and Monster hunt 4 ultimate. On Luma3ds it does work, but it sometimes crashes (atleast in my case). Pretty much for the games that have issue's with I use rxTools. Yes, I have all 3 running on my system since it's just Dat/bin file, added to ctrboot and done.
