Seconded. I bricked my New3DS by being a total turd and accidentally using the v1 updater with v2 payloads. Shipped it out to hardmod by Milerwan recently tho.It is only safe if you understand what you are doing or at least following instructions properly. You're modifying your only way out of a brick without a hardmod, and if you brick it because you made your 3ds read a payload that doesn't work, you'll need a hardmod to fix it
Do so at your own risk.
Updating A9LH is NOT save, the way the A9LHInstaller works is by injecting the payload into the FIRM partitions. By installing the new A9LH it places multiple payloads in the FIRM and will brick you.

don't bother
Changing to Luma is literally swapping out approx 5 files on your SD card with 0 modifications to your system. The short version is as follows (this assumes that you are using arm9loaderhax or a9lh for short!!)Mine it´s on Aureinand yet, just want to change to 'Luma' involves all the risks detailed here or it´s safer?
