I need help,
I just followed this guide: https://github.com/Plailect/Guide/wiki/Part-5-(arm9loaderhax)
to update my A9LH with A9LHInstaller v2.0.1 using data_input_v2.zip and this: https://github.com/AuroraWright/arm9loaderhax/releases

I run the A9LHInstaller, pressed SELECT, I got "Success" in green. But now my N3ds won't boot!
I have a black screen at boot, did I bricked my N3DS? How?
Try hold SELECT key when powering on. Does it show up the Luma3DS setup menu?
If yes, then first set it up according to the guide and press START to save changes and reboot.
If still shows up blank screen then rename "Nintendo 3DS" folder to something else and try powering on again.

  1. Rename /arm9loaderhax.bin, if it exists, to something else.
  2. Place the arm9loaderhax.bin from the archive linked above in your SD root.
  3. Insert your SD card into your 3DS and power on.
  4. Press A. Your 3DS should power off; this means arm9loaderhax is working and something else is broken; your device is not bricked.

Yes I am using Luma3DS and holding SELECT on boot does nothing.
Glad to hear 3DS is not bricked! I will remove every files on the SD card and copy just Luma files

Re-download Luma3DS and try putting arm9loaderhax.bin on fresh spare mirco SD card (ie. the one that has no emuNAND partition and formatted to FAT32)
We need to first confirm that it shows up something. Without SD card it will power off instantly = means the A9LH is installed fine and works as intended.

Thank you so much! You saved me!

Everything is working now with a new SD card with only arm9loaderhax.bin on it :)
Thanks everybody

I can't boot ctrbootmanager9 anymore with A9LH 2.0, right? This is my problem, with luma3DS, it works but with ctrbootmanager9 it doesn't

Glad to know it works, now get back on your previous SD card, copy and backup everything from it to your PC
Do you have any emuNAND on previous SD card? Backup that as well using "emuNAND Tool" on PC
Use "MiniTool Partition Wizard" to get rid of any partitions on the previous SD card, set it as Primary partition and format to FAT32
Put armloaderhax.bin, and emuNAND9 payload in luma\payloads folder (name it something like y_emunand9.bin)
Hold Y key when powering on it will take you to emuNAND9 menu, use that to create GW emuNAND (not RedNAND)
Once that's done, power off. Put the files back that you backed up earlier on PC, as well as inject emuNAND.bin using "emuNAND Tool"
Put the SD card back in console. Hold SELECT when powering on to set up according to guide. Done.

I can only boot Luma with the new A9LH 2.0?? Can't boot ctrbootmanager9 and GW anymore?
What is this A9LH 2.0? As long as you using latest Luma3DS arm9loaderhax.bin and put the latest builds of each payloads it should work I think. Each of them has to renamed according to Luma3DS guide.
I have put GW Launcher.dat at root of SD card and the GW arm9loaderhax.bin as a payload renamed to down_gw9.bin in luma\payloads folder and it works when holding D-pad Down key and powering on.

SylverReZ @ SylverReZ: Also nice. Never really watched Fallout on Prime, but sounds like a good show. +1
