I need help installing a backup. I have N3DS using luma and got to the step in Plailect where you downgrade to 2.1. The N3DS will not boot up at all. Black screen and power button on.

Am I bricked? No hope?

Thanks,
Watts

If you didn't yet restored emuNAND into sysNAND, remember that no CFW can boot 2.1 emunand.
So you will have to flash the emuNAND backup onto sysNAND to have 2.1 working. Since N3DS never had firmware on 2.1, you will have to unbrick the emunand before flashing it. IF you are using the lastest version of otpHelper, "One Click Setup" option will do everything for you.

so yes prior to this step to my knowledge I had done everything correctly. I have the N3DS so cant try the recovery from what I read.... I also do not have a hard mod. I do have the NAND backups though.

Have you tried the troubleshooting I linked you to?

I mean, in the end, now you don't have to worry about bricking anymore right? So in some respects, this isn't such a bad thing, although of course it's not the best. Anyways good luck! ;)
