For the text I used msbteditor.exe (specifically Msbteditor reloaded) and edited the text in Sound.msbt. As for the portrait it's located in one of the chr_## folders in /ui/replace/chr
Where did you find sound.msbt? I'm looking all around the data folder that I decompressed from the dt file in the romfs folder and I can't for the life of me find it

Nevermind I found it!

Sorry if this has been asked before, but when I try to convert my brstm, the program says "unable to parse loop points" before crashing. Any reason for this?

What are you using to convert to a .brstm ?

Yeah, the new one is better than the old one.
I use it for all my Brawl mods and it's very useful.
Could this really be the cause of my problem? It's still a brstm, does it really make a difference how I converted it?

Help. I keep getting a syntax error when i try inputting the command dtls.py dt ls outdir/ when i open it up for the update portion of the guide. What is happening?

I'm trying to redo Bowser's voice on the Wii U version. Following the custom sfx tutorial listed here, I keep getting stuck at the part where it says I have to place the nus3bank file in the injection and extraction folder, then shift+right click to bring up the command menu. This is the part of the tutorial I am absolutely stuck at - "Open the "injection & extraction" folder. You will see two Python scripts here. One for extraction, one for injection. Hold shift and right click to open the command prompt. Use the following command: nus3bank.py [NAME OF FILE].nus3bank"

I tried:

- nus3bank.py [snd_vc_Koopa.nus3bank].nus3bank
- nus3bank.py.snd_vc_Koopa.nus3bank.nus3bank
- nus3bank.py snd_vc_Koopa.nus3bank
- nus3bank.py [snd_vc_Koopa].nus3bank
etc. etc

Everything I type in, I keep getting a "SyntaxError: Missing parenthesis in call to print"

Am I typing in the command wrong, missing any periods or any symbols? Can someone post a perfect example? I can't get past this part ugggh

For Lucario's sound file, I got it to work with
Code:
nus3bank.py snd_vc_Lucario.nus3bank
Are the sound file, the py files, and the command prompt all in the same folder? (By the command prompt, I mean did you shift-Right-Click inside that folder?) And do you have Python installed?

EDIT: And if all of them are, could you take a screenshot of your folder and maybe the command window as well? I've never seen that error before...

I do have Python installed and the nus3bank for Bowser is in fact inside the folder. I've been launching command prompt from the folder as well. Here is my screenshot:

Looking at your folder contents, i noticed that the two .py files don't have the python logo (to the left of the filename); they just have the generic file icon.
Here's mine if you don't know what I mean:

Are you sure you have python installed? Have other python files worked?

Maybe I'm missing a tool or something? The tutorial says I need FBI/BBM but I have no idea what that means/is? I'm trying to mod the Wii U version of the game, I was told this process works for it even though its intended for the 3DS version

Okay, I only have one more idea, but I don't think anything will happen... I just don't know what to say about this; I have no idea what the error could be.

This is my exact, working folder setup: Tested with multiple character files, including yours in question. Extract the zip and throw your snd_vc_Koopa.nus3bank into the folder, then run the ExtractKoopa.bat file I quickly put together with the correct command, also tested and working for me. If that doesn't work, I don't know what will... :(

Gonna try this out now, thanks. Will report back with results (or lack thereof)

Tried it. Still nothing, same error..I have no idea what else to do. If it helps I'm running Windows 10 if it isn't already known from my screenshots, 64bit
