2.7.11 (64-bit).
Guides say 2.7, so...

Yeah, that's the version you need. I don't know, then. TexIDfix is definitely not a perfect script. A lot of us are still running into that red hair glitch it causes and I haven't been able to figure out a solution.

I'm using a laptop, maybe that's why? Not enough CPU or something.

Does that error mean anything, though?

So, this time when I ran the TexIDfix, rather than not loading a texture on the hair at all, this time it loads the texture off the shield. Progress?

For reference, what it looks like before running the TexIDfix script:

Don't want to release something that doesn't work as intended.

I'm running the script on a tablet PC, I don't think CPU is the issue. I don't know what the error you're getting means, sorry.

But, at the very least, that's not an error you get? Something must be up.

Is it possible I downloaded the right VERSION of Python, but not the right OS version of it?

I don't get those errors when I run the program, no. And while I'm not an expert, I doubt Python would even run if you had the wrong OS version.

This seems like the right place to ask, so I'll get straight to it. If I have the disc version of Smash Bros, how would I go about applying a patch to it that includes my texture hacks? Would I have to get a backup and play it off of Loadiine or is there a way for me to patch the game without having to have a Sm4sh backup?

I checked, and I definitely have a 64-bit system, which is what I downloaded for. That means there's another issue.

How do you actually decrypt the update files? Everytime I grab them with Uwizard, I just get a bunch of numbered files.

Those "numbered files" ARE the decrypted files. You need to have a dump of Sm4sh in order to continue. Assuming you already dumped the game, it's just a matter of using Smash Explorer and other tools to edit the files. I used these videos to help me out:

Dumping Sm4sh Tut.

Sm4sh Explorer Tut.

EDIT:

For texture hacking and such, I used this:

I have my dump of the game, and then this folder from Uwizard:

I'm just not sure where to actually put the update files at this point.

Edit: Is it not supposed to dump the content and meta folders? Are those just supposed to be what I got from my dump?

You don't put the update files anywhere. You're supposed to get the "dt" files and the "is" file and copy them into the content folder. Then have Sm4sh explorer and open up the version number folder.

EDIT:

Make sure you also checked off the"decrypt contents" button as well, that can be why you're just getting those files and not the content etc. folders.

NONONONO

I MADE A MISTAKE XD

You're downloading A TITLE. You can't do that. You need to download the update title. Go back to Wii U brew and look under updates. Not titles. Make sure decryption is checked XD. My bad :P

On just gives me the numbered files, no content, meta, ect folders.

Edit: Guys I'm getting more confused by the second xD

Edit.. Edit: Okay, now it seems to be working just fine.

I'm going through all this trouble for such minor changes. Man I'm a sucker for modding.

LMAO ok, I can sort this out.

Basically, you're downloading the TITLE. You need to download the UPDATE. Not the Title.

THIS IS WHAT IT SHOULD LOOK LIKE:
