In the last 4 days I've been experiencing a certain problem with Zelda triforce heroes and its online capability.
Whenever I would talk to the old man and ask him to connect me to the internet and send out my request to play, regardless of whatever settings or options I choose (Random Map, Bonus Challanges and Brisk gameplay), after a few seconds he will reply with:
Hmm, it seems a Connection Error has occured. I beg your pardon, but could you please try again?

I have no clue what is causing this. I have no problem connecting to the eShop or playing online with Pokemon X. It seems to be a problem restricted to just this game. When I get a connection error the old man gives me absoloutely no information: No error code, nothing.

I use a Gateway 3DS with an old 3DS Xl updated to emuNAND 10.7, and I haven't experienced any sort of the old bans or something similar.

And oddly enough, sometimes I can go online and play a few matches, but I've noticed it is restricted only to the volcano area and with no bonus challanges. Anything else, and it refuses to work.

Its pretty clear that you just CANT use any sky3ds or gateway to play online. Install a9lh and luma3ds and you're good to go with cias. https://github.com/Plailect/Guide/wiki

Are you playing out of your system's region? Have you already changed your EULA to FF FF using Config.cia from the Nintendo SDK?

It's a CIA
Perhaps you're using a region-free CIA? I'm not sure if it matters, but that game just so happens to be in-game region-locked.

I would suggest trying a different EUR CIA of the game, just in case. I would say to do the same for the 2.1.0 update for it, too.

Just tried it on a fresh installation of the same region-locked, EU copy and getting the same exact error.
I have no idea what to do now. I just hope I won't have to migrate over to a foreign (To me) CFW, port all of my saves over and kiss 50 Euros I spent last year goodbye.

All your CIA saves would still work if you switched to CFW. Why aren't you using a .3DZ ROM though? I'm using a .3DZ with my Gateway and I haven't had that problem. Online really didn't want to work when I visited my mom though, I could connect fine but 95% of the time, as soon as someone joined the game they immediately got disconnected. The last 5% of people were able to connect just fine but it made finding other players a real pain. It might just be really picky with your wifi/internet connection. If you can, visit someone with a wifi connection and see if you can connect fine there, if so it's probably down to your router.

I tend to avoid .3DZ use since my red card's pins don't make good contact with my cartridge slot, thus there's an increased probability of it breaking down mid-game. Perhaps I should try using my private pokemon X header with it though.
